Thanks for the encouragement Sammy!
Unless I get a "no" from them I am gonna try my best to stay positive and patient.
Right now I am mainly still just reading other thread from newbies. After I finished ORG's first thead (linked to a couple posts back) I started his second one http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/swift/118572-im-going-with-swift.html (which I am on p37 of atm). I also have marked Chris' (Chralb) thread http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr.../118595-running-with-watkins-and-shepard.html for reading which will be next to catch up on and American Truckers thread http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...22237-my-experiance-with-watkins-shepard.html will follow that. Even though I have been out on the truck as a passenger for two years these thread have taught me tons!

Edit: Caught up on ORG's thread, time to start on Chris'.
From idea to actuality!

Well today I heard from Christine my recruiter. She needed to ask me a few questions and clarify a few things. Now my app is being reviewed by someone else for approval. She said she would get back to me next week when she knew or needed something. So.... time to wait some more! LOL.
I am on page 71 out of 93 on Chris' thread now so should be caught up there by tomorrow. After that only AT's left that I know of. If anyone reading this has threads about their progress whether it be school, orietation, training, driving solo/team, or any combination of those I would love for you to post the links here so I can chek them out. Always love having good threads to read
Well time to do a little permit studying and some more reading. Hope you all are have a wonderful night and drivers, stay safe and keep on truckin'!

Yesterday was a really good day for me for the most part as far as stuff for trucking goes.
I did a practice of the agility test they do at Con-Way orientation (or atleast the one my boyfriend had to do 2 years ago) which consisted of climbing into and then out of the trailer, waddling like a duck under the trailer without bumping my head on the trailer or putting my hands on the ground, and then climbing in the truck (hehe, that was sooooo hard!).
I can of course get in the truck fine, do it everyday. The waddle thing wasn't a problem either, pretty easy. The trailer thing wasn't too bad. The first time I did it with the left door closed. Having that to use helped alot! I decided to do it again with the both doors open just in case thats what I have to do in orientation (and practice never hurts right?). It was a little harder without that door there to use but I still managed to get up and down fine.
I also did the landing gear and hooked up the hoses when we hooked to our load today. Nice to get some hands on practice
Sitting in the Lancaster, TX terminal doing some laundry now.
Times like yesterday make me so grateful that I am able to watch and even do some of this stuff before even going to school. I also love the fact that I already know that I like the lifestyle. Having ridden around in a Con-Way truck for the last two years also has serious perks since that's the company I plan to start with. It has left me very familiar with their terminals, yards, policies, etc.. That's gonna make getting used to the driving part a bit less overwhelming I have a feeling.
Well off to do some more reading here on TTR while I finish this laundry and then to get some sleep!!
Take care all and drive safely out there drivers!

Yesterday instead of just waiting while my boyfriend fueled I decided to actually get out and watch the process to see what it was like. I found out that it is very similiar to putting gas in my Explorer, the pump thing just asks alot more questions (milage, fuel in reefer tractor or both, need advance, etc...).
Well we deliver in Houston, TX tomorrow and I gotta get some sleep considering we have to leave the T/S in about 4 1/2 hours
Take care and drive safe out there!

Looking forward to reading more! Have heard good things about Con-Way myself and will definitely apply to them while I go through school.
