I thought this was a money is no object dream truck?? Why are you all talking resale? Why set your sights so low for a dream truck?
Mine would be a W900L that was a aerocab converted to a day cab. That way I could get the regular day cab look with the extra leg room and not have the ugly extended day cab roof line. Make mine with a 1000hp cat 18spd dark green with about a 220 in wheel base 46k rears. Then while I am still dreaming make it weigh less than 16k and turn as sharp as a volvo.

    Let's define "money no object:"

If this means money no object completely, meaning i'm Oprah-rich, then this means i don't "have to" drive for a living anymore. In which case, why buy a truck?

If it means i won some contest that let's me spec out a truck exactly the way i want, but doesn't mean i'm independently wealthy, then i would still stick with a freightliner century due to the higher profibility potential.

If money no object means, not being frugal or prudent and just acting macho and not being concerned with the bottom line then i would definitely go long nose to impress people who i don't even know even though the extra length in no way earns me more money. i would also go at least 310" WB so i can have lots of space between the back of the cab and trailer so as to reduce mpg as much as possible. Meanwhile, i'm in danger of losing my house...........

i elect to withdraw from this thread.

If money were no object I would have someone build me the ultimate glider kit that was mostly a W900 KW with the hood of LoneStar and the interior would completely custom with every guage backlit blue, and more chrome than any man should have. I'd have a 70 ton Holland, 52 Newway, 4.10's, dual steering boxes, 7in straps fuel straps, a 2003 C15 stove that would have every imaginable upgrade the Mr.Haney could dream up, 18 double over, heavy drive line, 4 wheel locks, 48in bunk, auto greaser, 120 gall tanks, tire inflation system, custom bush bumper with a solid center pin, 5th wheel scale, 18 fronts with 48 rears, 385 steers 11r245 775 drives, about a $10,000 headache rack with all kinds of great sealed dry storage, the fanciest on board auto log book gererator ever conceived, 3 line wet kit with a 80 gallon tank, leather drivers and passenger heated seats, just about every concievable amber marker light avail, It would be painted with a base of black and then classily done flames starting at the front. Not the huge flames, but the ones that actually look like fire.

The stacks would be big enough that I could extract Chilean miners thought them.

I love my Pete 379 but it's about the least practical truck on the road. I fantasize about a sharp Western Star Lowmax. Lowmax's seem to look a lot different than regular Stars to me.

  10. Lucky for you, you can't get a (not so) Super 10 anymore.:biggrin_2559: I am unfortunate enough to own one of those heaps-o-crap. Don't do it. Please, don't do it.

I just drove a truck I rented with a DD15. Judging from the power of a DD15, I don't think a DD13 would pull an empty trailer. THe DD15 just barely did. Cornado or Century? I dunno. I am getting tired of that Freightliner rattling and banging, myself.

I'm thinking my next tractor will be a KW. I am also sick of the 350hp engine with the Stupid 10 behind it, so I'll likely get something big and nasty and make a sinister face and laugh in an evil fashion while going up hills and NOT downshifting.:biggrin_25523:

    josh.c Thanks this.
  11. Being driven by bikini and lingerie models who would personally handle the deliveries of said beer to my lounge chair on the beach.:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:
