got a bit in erie yesterday--maybe an inch or so--the closer you live to the lake the better--actually get less lake effect--with lake erie anyways--cause its shallow and warmer i think

I am right in the middle of the Lake Erie belt, but so far most has been north. Only like 7 inches on the ground here.
The only relief we get from the lake effect is that it will cut down some when the lake turns over, then it will go away when/ if it freezes.
It normally will freeze by the second week in Feb, if it is going to at all for the year.
It has the past 2 years, but did not freeze for the 2 years before that.

Better than the area's toward Watertown. That darn lake never freezes completely.

    Hey ChromeDome
My sister lives in Orchard Park and they get hit but not as bad as her son who lives in Amherst OUCH. Yeah when the lakes freeze it's much better THEN we just get the general snow fall ick...... LOL! I think Syracuase won the snow award last year!!

Ground pounder- I thought Lake Erie was deeper than Ontario?????

They cannot drain them, it would be bad for the fish that I like to catch so much.
besides, if they drained the great lakes it would mean draining all the rivers as well, and then they would not be able to use them to move freight.
If you want to help just start dumping in buckets of ice all fall to get it cooled down.
