    Can anyone tell me if its ok to unhook the waste gate on my turbo? Will it damage anything?

    yeah, WG limits charge pressure, saves engine (limits combustion chamber temperature, prevents nocking), intercooler and charge lines, redused turbine speed...

    so do not unhook WG, engine power is limited with ECM

    My waste gate has been disabled for 5 years... my egt's never go above 600F...CAT 3406E.

    this is probably useless to you but the wastegate has been disconnected on the local truck since last winter and nothing has happened
