I'm a little sad they gave me a T2000. Its pretty much the same thing I trained in which I have no trouble driving just my backing is Horrific since the turning ratious is not that great. I'm all set up though I got bedding and am laying in the bunk now. I have lots of space and its a good truck. I didn't want to fight the guy that I flew with for the Volvo that was ready. I just figured id take this one and then hopefully I could get a Volvo later. I'm waiting on a load assignment but I have a feeling that I may be here till Monday since normally there arnt any loads that go out on Sunday. That will make it a bit easier on me that way I can get a 34 in and start the week off fresh.

I can't wait until I actually KNOW what you are talking about - LOL - 'a 34'? I'm worried about backing ESPECIALLY when I can't see the back side of the trailer - but I'll learn :)

Backing is in some cases a lot easier than it looks. I still have trouble with backing but not as bad as before. Do I like that I have to back up a tank not really but I will get used to this truck and do what I have to and then with any luck get what I really want.

a 34 is just that its 34 hrs off duty that resets my 70hr clock. You cant work more than 70hr in 8days I have some time from last week left but I would prefer to start my new journey fresh.

AHHH - light beginning to glimmer - I thought it was 11 hours rolling and you couldn't do another 11 until you got min of 10 rest... yeah I have a LOT to learn!!

be happy you didnt get a W9. lol that has a much worse turning radius. The t2 isnt bad. its basically the same as my 387. Dont be too proud to ask for help at truck stops especially at the smaller ones.

    thats true too!

11 hrs driving then you must take a 10 hr break.
14 hrs total on duty time. 11 driving and upto 4 non driving.
    70 hrs in 8 days.

although that is going to change soon. We are waiting for FMCSAs new proposal to HOS rules.
