The equipment is pretty decent. The majority of the fleet is 06-08 Freightliner Columbia flattops but they're in the process of rolling over to new Mac midroofs with a few Internationals thrown in for god knows why. The older equipment is obviously a little more run down but I haven't heard of anyone having any major problems yet. If you do get a truck that has problems, it can most likely be blamed on driver negligence, not BTC. You need something fixed, make it known and it'll get fixed.
The miles I can't really comment on right now as I haven't been here long enough to get a good average, plus freight is slowing down some for winter. I will say though that I've only sat 2.5-3 days in the past three weeks and I'm working this wkend. Any other lack of miles is due to my learning curve and the time it takes me securing a load, tarping if it calls for it and undoing everything on the other end. Haven't got a quick system figured out on that yet. FYI, strap rollers come in very handy. Haven't gotten one of those yet either. Tarping is my biggest slowdown right now but fortunatly I haven't had a bunch of those. Maybe every third load or so.
Blacktop, congrats if you make it in, I think you'll like it here. They do have their rules but overall they're a fairly laid back company and easy to get along with. I like it here. -
I got one of the new internationals on friday. I was hoping to get a mack but oh well. I actually like it though, except the maxxforce is just as gutless as the MBE's in the freightliners unfortunately.

Yeah, all I can do is dream when I'm pulling a hill and I have trucks passing me like it's flat ground. I really should start writing down names for future reference. I hear the macs are pretty torquey. Haven't gotten a chance to see the inside of an international yet, are they nice? Are they equipping them with APUs or bunk heaters?
-
I like the interior. MUCH better seats. Only problem is the storage is better in the columbias. Word in the shop was that since International had a deadline to meet they left out the storage cabinets in the sleeper. Dont understand how that happened. They have bunk heaters in them.
-
would you expect anything more from International....really
-
Yeah especially now that theyre made in mexico.
-
How's the e logs working for you?heard they've had a lot of drivers quit since they got them.
-
EVERYBODY is going to be on electronic logs by Dec. 2011. Why all the griping about it?
-
Depends on how many trucks the company has. My company has 13 so no e-logs.but I run team so it dosent matter to me.
