And the pucker factor gets pretty high when two, or more, are attempting to control each other at the same time. :biggrin_2555:

If you believe those four-wheeler drivers are even remotely aware of what a Big truck may need to do, you're givin' 'em more credit than they deserve. I think most of them haven't a clue.

    Priceless.
Don't cha just love that look on their faces?

    Timing is everything.
Read the road and catch 'em with their pants down.
The CB conversation goes like this:

    HeY!
Didn't I pass y'all back thar in the flats?

    YuP.
    You sure did.

Then how is it now you're passin' me in the mountains goin' uphill?

    It's like this, driver, -----
When you passed me back thar in the flats,..........
    it's 'cause I let you.
Now, here in the mountains goin' uphill, ..........
I'm passin' you 'cause I want to, ----
    and can.
    Toota-Lew. :wave::laughing6:

Are the arrows protruding from his trailer doors your's too? :smt063 :biggrin_25525:

If you find yourself being passed by a truck, and he's got traffic backed up behind him because he got caught in the passing lane without enough HP, kindly have the courtesy of backing off the throttle just a little to let the guy pass and get traffic moving again.

When you get your speed back up you can go around him again...

And if you find YOU are the guy in the left lane that can't get around another truck try slowing down and getting back into the slow lane... you can try that pass later down the road.

I always and will continue to do this, I can't stand having people slowly passing me on the highway. Heck I even do it when cars decide they have to take 10 minutes to pass me, I just back out a couple mph and let em get passed me, I feel safer that way.

Sounds like more of a "get-even" post, but, hey, that is OK.

I used to haul gasoline in a truck and trailer, which was way more maneuverable than a tractor/semi-trailer. We made 6-9 stops per shift in some pretty tight stations, and you really got to know where every part of your truck was. Every once in a while, as I was pulling into a station, some hotshot dic**ird just had to get in front of me to get to "his" pump, even though he knew where I was going, and even if there were several other pumps open. It was just too much fun to just keep slowly moving to the spot I needed to get to, park right next to the guy, about one or two inches from his door, and casually get out to unload, while the guy got all worried about how he would get out.

And the cars that pull into the intersection so you can barely turn - you could turn right from the right lane in those trucks, so that was fun too. Just cruise through the turn, slow and easy, about a foot between your bumper and the car, and listen as they get on the horn. They think you will hit them, but you know you are good, and they shouldn't be there anyway.

I had a truck that went 79 when the speed limit was 55. I would pull out to pass a car going 55. He speeds up. I speed up. He speeds up. I speed up. Etc., etc. Finally, he is going like 72 and I get past him and I am gone. Now he drops back to 55. Was that so hard? Hey, I just wanted to get past, you know?

Or a guy tailgates you (back in the 55 mph days) while you go 65, and I am risking a ticket. Right on my ###. Now, it is time to exit at one of those nice wide, fast exits. Just ease off at 65, no signal. and watch the guy follow you off the big road. Then, all of a sudden, his hood dips down and he swerves back onto the freeway.

    LMAO.

Probably can't do that any more either.

    OK. I'll take the bait.

"Man, it really makes me mad when..."

One professional driver discusses the shortcomings of another with a non-professional listening in.

If you have a problem with the professionalism of another driver, do him a favor and tell him so. You might turn him around and enable him to improve. On the other hand his answer might enable you to learn that your expectations are unrealistic (or that he is a complete #########, but at least you tried).

Running a trucker down in front of the "enemy" (4-wheeler drivers) just makes us all look bad.

Right now, I'm just a four-wheeler, but my biggest pet peeve is when I try to communicate important info on the CB, like "dense fog ahead" and get a bunch of Radio Rambo's dishing BS at me, trying to freaking flirt with me, making very LEWD remarks.

Come on guys, I am a fellow driver's WIFE!! How would you like it if someone were saying such things to your wife??

Most guys I know on these boards wouldn't treat me that way, and if I were around them and someone made such a comment, I think fur would fly..

When guys tarp back under the loading shed when it is a beautiful day out! This holds up everyone else because they were too inconsiderate to pull out to the front lot so everyone can get loaded in a timely manner! Almost did not get home this weekend because of it...ugh!

..when you're behind a truck in the fuel island and super-trucker-wonder-boy decides he's going to leave the truck there and go take a shower.

Sounds like the guy who almost followed me into a weigh station outside Charlotte.

Sometimes I think they like to look at the trucker in the mirror. When they sit right on your back corner like that, they can look right at you in the mirror. I know they do it at night also.

But I've noticed in the day that if I lean back where they can't see me in the mirror, they go ahead and pass.

You just might be on to something...

"If you can't see my mirrors, I can't see you." That might translate for some as, "Okay, so I can see his mirrors, now if I watch him until he looks in the mirror, I know he's seen me, and then I can pass without dying."

Because, of course, I'm going to swerve and crush the snot out of you the minute you get next to me.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, if it's a choice between fear and disregard, I'm going to pick fear from the motoring public every time.
