Well I guess this turns me off to them. Passport or no passport, I don't give a ####, I'm not going into Canada. I've been in port's without a TWIC card. Don't see what the fuss is all about. They just ask to see your drivers license instead if you don't have one and/or give you an escort if even at all. It's all about a source of money for the government is all it is when it comes down to the TWIC card.

I am thinking if you are escorted, it costs the company for that escort...not sure, but I think so...If you don't have a TWIC...Without a Passport you just can't run away from problems..:biggrin_2559:

Well, normally only time I hit port's or refineries is down in Port Allen, LA. and south of there down around Plaqemine, LA. to either to drop or hook MT's going on or coming off home time. Done it for Dupree petrolium a few times. Just had to wait for a yard truck to come and escort from the gate. My TWIC has been paid for but had a little issue that I had to correct. Took care of that and was told I could pick it up but the point of pick up is close to 5 hours from me. No way I can get down there. May sound crazy but at the time I started driving I was single so I figured being on the road I had no need to have to pay a vehical payment plus insurance when I would rarely be home to drive it. I just used the truck to take care of business and go home. Now not owning a vehical is biting me in the ###. I guess it's one of those live and learn kinda deals.

Just FYI the day I quit TMC the Indy yard was overflowing with trucks that were turned in. I was one of 12 drivers leaving that week alone. So its not as peachy as you make it out to be. Lots of drivers have had problems for various reasons and left. I don't know if thats the norm with other trucking companies. Maybe things are getting better there, I am not sure except for what I read here.

No offense but you do sound like a company man or management coming in here a pumping it up like they can do no wrong, when if read lots here from those who been through it, its really a mixed bag of good and bad.

At the end of West Thompson road, on the right, to be more precise. On the east side of South Harding, not the west side with the Flying J.
