You guys are making a mountain out of mole hill.

We do not do any electronic banking so to speak.

All of our credit cards, utility payment and the such allow for electronic payments.

My wife pays them through their websites through the internet.

I do not use any special program to access my personal account. The transactions are posted through debit transactions.

We cannot access our checking account on the internet. Therefore it cannot be hacked either.

OK so they use Quicken. Not a big deal as it does make it easier than WRITING every thing down! With Quicken or any other program even an excel sheet it's a one time thing and it's just as easy as writing it down.

    A word of warning!!!

DO NOT USE A WIFI to access ANY account that handles your money or sensitive information!
A broadband or cell phone connection or even a lan cable connection are the only safe way to access the internet. If you're just watching porn go for the wifi but don't even access your email! It has a password correct?

WIFI signals can be hijacked very easly and all of your virus protection and malware stopping or firewalls will not protect you from a hijacked WIFI at truckstops, Mickey D's Starbucks,motel/hotels or the local coffee shop! All it is is a retransmitted wifi signal and at a higher power so your computer sees it and directs you to it. You have no idea if you're on the "real" site or the hijacked one!

Now, for those of you who aren't real internet savvy here is a very important tip
Look at the url when you go to sign on. Do you see http or https? The s stands for secure. Look down close to the clock in the bottom right hand corner or just above it. Do you see a yellow padlock in the LOCKED prosition? Just look for either one before you start to enter a password or a credit card number or bank account to be safe!
