I would like to warn you guys from working for TLC outta champaign, IL aka super valu. they are messed, I worked for them for two and half years and they still treat me like ####, they make me run over 14 hours a day and I'm a local driver. they make me run to WI to do 6 stops and I live in springfield, il I got pulled over by DOT last week and I was way over my hours, not to menstion that one day I was doing 4 stops in chicago area and I was ticked for running on a non truck route , and the ticket was over $1500 and company don't want to pay for it. super valu don't care how many hours you run they just want their load to be del on time to the store.

And, what part about saying "No" and refusing to violate DOT Hours of Service do you not understand ? It's pretty easy. That is YOUR responsibility, not theirs. As for being on a non-truck route, again, guess who chose that route ? I'm no defender of most companies, but some personal responsibility has to come into play here..Just say NO, repeat after me, it's easy..

can't say no once you got hooked up to the trailer, and there is way you refused load after they call you on the phone and tell you that you have a load ready, they call you at noon and tell you that you have to be here at midnight and then you show up, not only that some times they call you at 10pm to tell you that. and after you do what you gotta do you go home and then you get a phone call at the same day to tell you you gotta do the same thing again even before you take a rest, and some time they make you do it in a day time where you loose your sleep habbit

They don't tell you where you're going? Just " hook up trailer A"? And you've been there over 2 years with this krap happening?

Isn't TOTAL a US Express owned company ?
-
and you've been there 2.5 yrs! wake up and have a pot of coffee and find another job. I'm sorry but like the others have said, some of this falls back on you, and if more drivers tell them NO they won't do it after a while, or they will keep hiring ppl that will do it. just my .02

HOLLAND Total Logistic Control, a subsidiary of Supervalu Inc., has been acquired by Ryder System Inc.

What part of no don't u understand?? No one can make u do anything!! That's just convenient excuse to just blame someone else for your actions!
-
The good news is that Ryder System Inc. drivers are Union positions,....I would think that would mean a successful organizing drive at the newly acquired TLC,...... -
Question from a rookie.
If you say no for a load, or that you wont run over hours, isnt that grounds for dismissal? I know you can go back to them for violating HOS, but they can make up some excuse to make it legit.
I would say at the least if you said no, you wouldnt have many loads or miles because of it. Unsure about any of this so I figured I would ask.
