I have my cdl but am new to industry. My choices at the moment are Werner or Stevens transport. I have no experience and all other companies I applied to require experience. I know I have to start somewhere to get the experience I need, so I am hoping to get some insight as to which company I might be better off with giving my situation. CONFUSED!
some insight?

take whatever you can get, after a year then you can choose.
just lil me and Dionysus Thank this. -
I'm with omd. If the company you choose turns out to be garbage, at least you'll have learned something and put some miles on. Stick at it for at least a year, because it'll look better on your résumé if you show that you are not easily put off. Good luck.
just lil me Thanks this. -
Why not find a good company to start with? Have a little faith in yourselves! Just because they are not Swift or Werner doesn't mean they aren't hiring new drivers. Do your homework and put some effort into it. Good luck!

the OP seems a little lost on what to do. better off to start out with a company that is gonna expect you to quit, he might find he hates driving, you make a lot of mistakes in a truck when you first start. better to get fired from a CDL mill company then a good truck company. not saying dont strive for better but the OP mentioned 2 companies. i dont care how much ambition you have you arent gonna start out with a real good company. real good companies want real good drivers and you cant be a real good driver till you get some time driving, so your options as a new driver are basically going to be the same with very little differences probably the main one being home time. just my two cents, what do i know i'm a local driver
just lil me Thanks this. -
