I just got hired by t hem today. I only have 3 months experience and have never driven flatbed. They seem like a really good company. I just left Prime to work for them. I live in wheeling,wv. so i applied at the ohio terminal. Good group of drivers and dispatchers. Really nice eqiuptment. Mostly internationals and freightliner columbias. a few wester stars

I was wondering how you were getting along at Gypsum? They seem to be a straight up company but you have to be careful anymore.

well i started my orientation today at Gypsum express...a week of tarp and flatbed training at the ohio terminal since i have only reefer experience and only 3 months otr experience. 33cpm to start....prolly would be more with experience. they run a lot of sheetrock and steel rolls for budweiser. Home everyweekend. They are driver oriented...all about communication and keeping good equipment on the road...they r in the process of buyin a new fleet of freightliner and kenworths.

I know who "gypsumcat88" is. I went through Prime training with him lol. I start at Gypsum next week. I worked with the wife of a driver who has been there for a few years, and she never had anything bad to say about them. I was surprised they were will to take a chance on a couple of "newbie" drivers. I think the fact we were trained at Prime helped. I am very optomisitic about this opportunity and think it's goin to be a great fit for me. Everyone seems very nice and willing to help you succeed in anyway possible.

Just wondering how your start at qypsum was this week. go out with trainer? good orientation? they will be coming through my school, as well as pgt, tmc, falcon, shneider. Too many to choose from. Just want to keep some home time.

I would not recommend them. Very unsatisfied drivers. Mileage varies. They either kill you or starve you. You have to usually fight for your pay. Tarp pay usually missing, mileage is incorrect, shorted stop off pay. The list goes on. Dispatch for the most part treats drivers badly. Forget about ever driving a toll road. That is not allowed. They have changed alot the past few years to survive in this economy, but trust me - the changes only benefit the owner and the company. It is a job, but the hassles are frustrating.

gypsum express is a pretty good company....so far honest people....good miles....usually between 2400 and 3000 plus pay for tarps,stop offs,and other ####
