I'm at the Flying Peelot in Hope Hull, AL (south Montgomery). I went inside to get something cold to drink and left with nothing... Nothing but disgust for the prices they are charging for a bottle of sugar water these days--a median price of 12.5 cents per ounce.
I guess I didn't need a cold drink after all, but obviously some are willing to pay the price. Are you in that group?
How much would you pay for a 20 oz. drink?

if a 20oz bottle of pop is over 1.29, I'll pass.
I usually just stick with water though. I've refilled my coffee thermos several times in a fountain dispenser with Ice water.lilillill Thanks this. -
About 2 years ago I quit drinking any cold drink but water. Was downing 2 or 3 Mountain Dew a day. Noticed I would only drink about half a bottle, then not want any more. Thought about the high price, too. Started drinking only water. I lost 20 pounds, feel a lot better, and have a few more bucks in my pocket at the end of the week. Maybe only one a month now.

best bet is like someone else said, drink water.
the idea is to stay hydrated. water IS the best.lilillill Thanks this. -
This is why I don't buy anything in the TS unless I absolutely have too. I go to the grocery and buy my food for the week and I drink tons of water. I buy a case of bottled water for $3.99 at the store and that equals 16 cents per bottle and they want to charge $1.29 or more? I don't think so!

I'm with the Alien Hill Dweller on this one--I buy a case of the cheapest bottled water I can find. I suppose I could get it even cheaper out of the tap, but then I'd have to bottle it, make sure the containers were clean... etc.
When I am suckered into buying a drink at the store, it is usually at the 5 cents an ounce price point. Think Arizona Ice Tea... and now even Snapple has a 5 cent per ounce drink--a pre-priced tea at 79 cents for 16 oz.outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
Does anyone else remember the good old days when you would buy fuel and get a coffee or soda pop FOR FREE???
lilillill, rocknroll nik and outerspacehillbilly Thank this. -

I think its the TA card that hubby has and when he gets over 100 gals. of fuel the drink is FREE, he gets free coffee every morning and his fountain pop at night too....maybe ya all should get a card?
