How much are you willing to pay for sugar water?

I'm thirsty as hell! I'll pay whatever it costs.

    6.4%
  2. *

I think $1.49 for a 12oz soda is pretty fair.

    12.8%
  3. I just buy it without looking at the price.

    4.3%

$2.49 for a 20oz drink? Are you smoking crack?

I'm at the Flying Peelot in Hope Hull, AL (south Montgomery). I went inside to get something cold to drink and left with nothing... Nothing but disgust for the prices they are charging for a bottle of sugar water these days--a median price of 12.5 cents per ounce.

I guess I didn't need a cold drink after all, but obviously some are willing to pay the price. Are you in that group?

if a 20oz bottle of pop is over 1.29, I'll pass.

I usually just stick with water though. I've refilled my coffee thermos several times in a fountain dispenser with Ice water.

About 2 years ago I quit drinking any cold drink but water. Was downing 2 or 3 Mountain Dew a day. Noticed I would only drink about half a bottle, then not want any more. Thought about the high price, too. Started drinking only water. I lost 20 pounds, feel a lot better, and have a few more bucks in my pocket at the end of the week. Maybe only one a month now.:biggrin_25513:

well if you ain't been "up here" as in like above the state of Maryland, and into New York, NJ, New England, then you would be in for quite a shock when you see soda for $1.50 and up.....and THAT is just regular sized cans, not even the larger ones.

best bet is like someone else said, drink water.

the idea is to stay hydrated. water IS the best.

This is why I don't buy anything in the TS unless I absolutely have too. I go to the grocery and buy my food for the week and I drink tons of water. I buy a case of bottled water for $3.99 at the store and that equals 16 cents per bottle and they want to charge $1.29 or more? I don't think so! :biggrin_25513:

I'm with the Alien Hill Dweller on this one--I buy a case of the cheapest bottled water I can find. I suppose I could get it even cheaper out of the tap, but then I'd have to bottle it, make sure the containers were clean... etc.

When I am suckered into buying a drink at the store, it is usually at the 5 cents an ounce price point. Think Arizona Ice Tea... and now even Snapple has a 5 cent per ounce drink--a pre-priced tea at 79 cents for 16 oz.

Does anyone else remember the good old days when you would buy fuel and get a coffee or soda pop FOR FREE???

Yeah, and now you have to use your points from your card! I'm surprised they still give ya a free shower with fuel.
