    I thought WAL-MART was a truckstop.

You know how some truckstops don't have restuarants? Well, WAL-MART just doesn't have any diesel.

Even if they're not, I still use them that way.

I got in that habit driving for Schneider. Schneider has a agreement with Walmart where their trucksa are allowed to park there even when it is posted as no truck parking. It is part of the grocery delivery contract they signed. Schneider drivers are even allowed to leave their trucks there when at TAH.

They are duping us all into thinking we are getting a good deal, marketing is whatever the market will bear! When there are no stores like walmart but walmart, then the real goughing begins. I shop at K mart and other places, I don't wanna have walmart as my only choice. Look at home depot, some of them are nearly insufferable already, and they can't make a mistake. When wm gets into truckstops I'll shop at others, bigger is not always better, if it keeps up we'll have to start calling this," good ole coorporate USA", they have been doing to our labor force for years, is your job next? drive55cat

I would love to see Wal-Mart brand truck stops. They could even put a Hooters in there, and maybe a Hard Rock Cafe.:biggrin_2559:

I didn't vote but years ago when Sam was alive wy wife and i were running team and living out of the truck. we went to pay for our purchase with a com check and the manager gave us a hard time and wouldn't take it. I called the corporate HQ and didn't know or care who i was talking to and complained about it and the guy said it was not there policy not to take com checks and let trucks park in there lotts and he would make sure it didn't happen again and then he asked for my mailing address. when we got to pick up our mail there was a nice letter and 2 business cards from Sam with his personal cell phone and home number and the letter said if you ever have a problem with one of my stores you hand this to the manager and tell him to call any time day or night. Since then I am a 100% Wal Mart shopper if they don't have it i don't need it. I even bought all mny truck supplys and batteries from Sam's club there warrantie is the best in the buisness ever 11 months the batteries would go bad and they would replace them for free.

Walmarts do have a book out on who has parking and facilities. My mom and dad RV all the time and use them when ever they can. They bought my hubby one, and he uses it - mom and dad said they've met alot of truckers doing the same trying to get away from the "crap" at truck stops. They once got their grill out and dad cooked up hot dogs and hamburgers for a couple of truckers - said they had a real good time! Mom made coffee the next morning and some of them came over and got their coffee for free - via mom and dad!
