I'm sorry to say I DID look. And unless you know what excact state has reciprocity agreements between which state you're asking for trouble. I'm sure you know that and I'm sure you only run in those states when you're carring a concealed weapon. Now please show me where I'm incorrect. Dop you have one permit that allows you to go in any state? Also please show me where I accused any one of being ignorany or lying. Now I won't be like some hot head and jump up and down claiming you put words in my mouth but please don't accuse me of something I have'nt done. I stick by what I said, if you don't agree that's fine. Try this site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concealed_Carry_in_the_United_States#State_laws I hope this puts an end to this topic.

I don't know about other states, but when you are issued a CDW license in Kentucky, they give you a list of all the state which reciprocate.

Whoever, I think it was Turbo that did a good thread on this subject and there are a lot more rules for Commercial Vehicles than the concealed weapons permit can cover.

I will see it I can find it later.

What seems to be in abundance, though, is a lack of knowledge about the stopping distance for objects of a certain size moving at a certain speed.

On second thought, strike this, though. What's lacking is common sense!

To Calinn, That's all I've said since the beginning of this topic. There's tons of regulations and you've got to follow them all or you risk trouble. Then to top it off the cities and counties can make more stringent rules if they choose and you'll need to know them as well. These drivers that carry their weapons I just wonder if there company knows that they are doping that? They might be O/O I don't know but to me is it really worth the risk or would common sense just be a better solution. I've dropped loads of gasoline in some really bad areas, in fact there was one station that was scheduled for a load and right before the truck loaded it we got word that the two cashiers were shot to death. No gun would have helped them when the regular customer pull and fired so fast they were caught right at the cash register. Our trucks have been shot at, hijacked, stolen right from the yard, and the drivers have been robbed. In all the years since I know of 1954 on there's never been a driver killed because he didn't have a gun. Somebody comes up to our driver and whats to steal the load we show them whats loaded and away they go. We can always get another truck.

Chicken lights, too much chrome, train horns, sharks teeth, speeding, tailgaiting, weaving in and out of traffic, and now you better watch out because I'm packing.

All I can say is they must be trying to make up for some shortcoming.

Interesting that you would link firearm ownership and the right to carry for the defense of self and others with some sort of shortcoming... are you sure your not really posting from the san francisco area?
    On the topic,
The trucking industry today is a not so funny joke, the truck are full of foreigners and rookies and they don't care about our "image" or anything else. there is nothing that can be done about this problem, and soon with the opening of the U.S. to the mexican trucks it's going to get much much worse.
If your concerned with these things I hate to say it but you're wasting your time.. the federal government has an agenda for America and safety is not part of it.. I personally had a 20 year veteran weighmaster tell me the fed is interested in dollars first and safety.. well, somewhere later..
The moral here is drive your truck to the best of your ability, and try to keep the rest of the moronic steering wheel holders from hitting you.

But they say enforcement is about safety in all of the media available, to a driver they may tell the truth if they take a liking to him/her.

Back to the original topic of this thread, which had nothing to do with concealed weapons, most of the following too close citations have been issued because the driver in front spotted a LEO, while speeding, and slowed abruptly to avoid a ticket. As a driver of a CMV, you are pretty well assured of the ticket if you are already following another CMV closely and don't see the reason for the abrupt slowing until you are past the LEO.

Listen to your CB and don't follow too closely in high traffic areas. Other drivers do extremely stupid things when they spot the 'MAN', and the stupid usually get away with it, especially in states that ticket CDL drivers with higher fines.

GasHauler: I don't know much about trucking (yet, but I'll learn), but I do know something about training, and I agree with you that there should be some qualification standard within the industry for trainers.

I don't know how I did it, but this message seems to be in the wrong spot, and will probably not make much sense to anyone. Sorry about that. Maybe I'll also learn how to use this forum.

I meant the above message about the qualifications of trainers.
