You are correct I misspoke, as long as you have the proper paper work you can bring anything across. It just puts you on a short list that could get you the extra look that will cost you time.
I have gone to the boarder and twice had my vehicle searched, and extra scrutiny on my documentation. took about 30 minutes. They searched my truck and me, inspected my wallet contents, they even took the pen out of my shirt, when they checked it. -
a whole half hour---ohhhh no
think my longest was close to 12 hours -
Was refused entry to canada in Blaine, was a lumper for a Moving Co. Was stuck there for like 9hrs. Apparently for a DV on my record. in 2000.
How long will this keep me from going into Canada. Can I get clearance somehow?

Thanks.
I knew handguns were out, and I figured they probably dont allow military-style rifles, as those are banned in California for all out of state drivers and most residents of the Golden State, as well.
Figure a 5 or 10 round mag. would be probably legal in Canada, but am just guessing there. -
My .22 holds 12
My .30-06 holds 4
My 12 ga. has a plug and will hold 2 in the mag and 1 in the chamber
My .30-30 held 5 -
check out getmehome.gov lotsa useful info. Never rely on the company to give you everything you need. You dont wanna be stuck at the border unable to go anywhere.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I thought here in Canada we aren't allowed firearms in a commercial truck. I thought I read somewhere about that or maybe it is only up here in the Yukon. If I am allowed i got to start carrying as I wouldn't mind bagging a moose one day coming home empty

YukonTrucker,
Next time you roll thru the Watson lake coop, could you walk in and ask them if there is indeed a restriction on rifles in a commercial truck SPECIFIC to the YUKON. I really need an answer to that. Or I suppose I could just call the scalehouse myself. You have me slightly concerned enough into check it out. -
Call Whitehorse scales 867-667-5729 I am in Hawaii right now so I can't just go there and ask for you but they are a good group there and if they don't know they can more easily get ahold of someone higher up in Whitehorse.
Winchester Magnum Thanks this.
