Your truck is better than a stinking hotel

 

I always get sent to the port of Delaware for a produce load from Dole. But I have a TWIX card, so I don't know if that makes a difference

 

After a while its nice to take a break from the truck.. And there are tons of hotels that beat staying in your truck... And then there are those that I'd rather stay in my truck rather than stay at (America's Best at the yard comes to mind... )

 

Hmm, I usually go to either Florance (which I can't remember at the moment what it is who we haul out of there) or Paulsboro (exxon usally going to TX)...

 

Wish I had of read this sooner, would of brought you a cup of coffee... Been at the yard since Thursday, classes, bp chk, and truck maint... Finally got cleared today, have a load p/u tomorrow (if I can find an empty) going to plainview. So I'm 99% sure I'll be headed to Amarillo once I get empty...

 

Thanks, that woulda been cool. I am assigned to a Trainer now. He is my age and a non smoker. He is on his way to Dallas now and should be here tonight. He doesnt have a load assignment yet but says we should leave out in the morning. They switched me over from Crosslands to the Americas Best(?) so he is going to pick me up here. Im very excited to get this thing going.

 

got out of New Jersey, via, Hazleton PA, hershey, to Edwardsville. Had the battery actually explode on the refer...hershey had jumped it to get it running, and when it warmed up boom. Spent 4 hours at a shop getting that fixed. So I arrived in Edwardsville after 11am, after all loads for the day were gone, and so where all the empty trailers. So here I am at the "J", with a load assignment that delivers to Longmont CO for Tuesday Late night. I will do a reset, before rolling out, and let this weather clear up.

 

Down time??? Hotel??? The driver pays, unless the truck is broke down and in the shop. Now that I have a sleep dog mattress, I sleep better in the truck than I do in a hotel room.

 

Do you even know what is on the side of a Stevens Truck? and Trailer?

An Aviary is large enough that the birds are free to fly, to breed, and to enjoy life. Works for me.

 

been a long slow few weeks.. but I'm no where near the yard, so I'm happy. Currently sitting on my longest load in the past week, 800 miles from GA to PA. doesn't deliver till 1800 on sunday (walmart), parked at my fuel stop yesterday. Already have a preplan to Minnesota.. should be fun.. 200 miles DH to pick it up.. longest one in a while.

Miles are low, but they have yet to have me sit too long. so It's not all bad.. benefit is pre-plans come pretty quick right now. Pre-alliance is useful during the slow periods.
