I've found all the people at the TS's to be very nice and helpful, even the sheethole I stayed at last night...
-
i can imagine some of the workers being grumpy---look at who they have to deal with all day--some drivers are just plain pricks when they are at the counter--true some of the workers should find another job--but if you go in acting like an idiot--you get what you give out
chopper23966, HFC and Rerun8963 Thank this. -
I also haven't seen a lot lizard yet, not that I care, but haven't seen one...Maybe it's too cold...

you cannot just simply go to the eatery across the street. Both of the T/A's here in Denver as well as the one in Alb. have had a loose policy against this. Similar to their drop trailer policy, you have to tell them that you are leaving and give them a means to get ahold of you. Denver West T/A has a large hotel/sports bar across the street, lots of drivers would go over there, if you didn't tell them at the fuel desk that you were doing this, you risk having your truck towed as abandoned. I don't recall all the peculiarities, but it was their policy. Also, I believe BlackW900 makes meniton of Jubitz having a simliar policy in his thread. -
I still park there, but won't shop there. I go to Walmart and pickup what I need.
HFC Thanks this. -
I dont understand the question..........................................................................................................
-
Well first I didnt start the thread for people to try and tell people how to budget there expenses or who much it costs to run a truck stop, the bottom line here is do they take advantage of drivers and my conclusion is "yes, big time so lets take a look', and yes im sure it cost money to run a truck stop but im sure it cost money to run a wall mart too and wouldnt you know there prices are cheaper hmmm!! well go figure. dvds at a truck stop or a joke, food is so over priced you need a cash advance to eat, parking is nice but when you spend 600 dollars on fuel i would think that would be a freebie. anything and everything is over priced beacuse they know you cant go somewere else to get it period.
-
normally parking is free if you get 50 gallons of fuel at most places. if you park at a flying j or pilot or petro parking is free too. TA is normally the ones that charge but if you notice they also have the nicer facilities. i dont mind paying 10 bucks for a secure parking lot where i know i aint gonna be bothered by lizards and crackheads pounding on my door all night. but yes the food prices are terrible. i will never buy a dvd from a truckstop. thats why i have my netflix and a fridge in my truck. go to walmart and stock up.
now if walmart would put in diesel pumps for trucks now we would be talking........HFC Thanks this.
