That's pretty cool of you! Too bad they aren't in Cleveland, I've been looking for something to volunteer to help out doing, this sounds like just the ticket.
Oh well. Glad your ride wasn't involved!

1/2 of the shop and all of the walls are still all black soot from the fire. Its really disgusting inside the shop. I still don't want my rig in there yet...so she sits in the parking lot until I figure out what to do. I paid my bill and there she sits...

Man, they can probably sell it for at least 10 Grand. After all, apparently old Pete's needing bodywork go for a lot of cash.

I still think it's too bad someone lost their rig because of a wiring fault. -
we use to disconnect negative wire when we keep trucks tonight in workshop.

KW might have a new shop rule, such as this....I wouldn't be surprised.

An '84 would most likely be mechanically injected. (unless it was re-powered) However, that Pete isn't an '84. It might be a '94- it's got the design cues of a model 379.

seems to me to repare this truck is too expencive deal. there are many parts, that were not damaged. so it is better to take truck apart and sell parts.
and I wanna see pics of workshop soot and smoke damage, of other trucks...
I told your story to my chief today and he agrees to me to disconnect battery cabels if we leave truck in workshop.Last edited: Dec 14, 2010

I spoke with KW today.
They told me that from now on, anytime a rig comes in with electrical issues, the NEG cable will be disconnected for the night.
Service Master is still onsite cleaning the soot damage. They are working on 3rd shift and expect to have it completed this week. -
but smell.... I know what is the fire damage...

That is no 84. For one thing the Unibilt Cabsleeper didn't come out til 94. Also from looking at the cab what is left and from were sleepjoint it it might be an Ultracab if so would be a 97. WHy would I know this called drove for an all Peterbilt fleet and the Bossman would only get Warrenty repairs done at Pete Dealers. IIRC 97 was the last year of the Nashville plant so it might be from there.
