Spent today battling LA drivers.
I've driven in LA for better than 35 years and am not intimidated by it. However, today's drivers have got to be the worst I've seen in at least 10 years.
Good thing they don't equip these trucks with 1/4" plate steel bumpers, or the drivers with axes!
Took me more than 5 hours to drive less than 100 miles. Then the place wouldn't take the load early. (dispatch said, 'yea...get on down there!')
So now I had to drive clear out to my favorite truck stop this side of Gary....Ontario TA.
Wish I could drink.
oh well. tomorrow will be better. -
Dispatches favorite answer, go and see....
Thanks...
I will take Ontario over Gary every day of the week.
Picked up my load today, and head out across 70 west bound...
stopped for the night at Oakley KS.
Then over to Longmont, to wait for midnight, and then get paid to sleep
McLane, dentention, sleep.

Were in a KWT2000
He is cool. Were getting along just fine.
Got my first mountain without Jake Brake this morning. Cajon Pass in heavy fog. It really was hard. I was supprised.
Sitting at the Terminal(?) in San Bernadino at the momment. Trainer ran off with his girlfriend. He coming back to make the delivery at 3AM then leaving again until tommorow when we pick up a ;oad of produce headed for Landover MD.
Im enjoying the break, catching up with emails, forums, facebook etc...
Downloaded Inception, so Im gonna watch that tonight. -
craziness with slow freight, will make it a nightmare.
Waited in Edwardsville for a 36 hour reset (I know 34), then arrived in Longmont 12 hours before appointment, then got unloaded to wait another 10 hours to be dispatched, onto a load that does not even pick up until friday, with 3 drops, in Maryland, Delaware, and then Buffalo NY.... -
This must be my turn in the barrel.
Load assignment yesterday morning in Oxnard. Left the Port of LA and arrived here at 1130. More than 31 hours later it's still not ready. Just checked again. At least 5 more hours if not tomorrow. Problem is, I had to move last night and was chased off to the nearest truck stop (77 miles). So I don't even get a reset out of this.
Load is still due in Ill on saturday AM. At this rate, I won't even get out of Cali before the repower.
Gonna have to hit everyone up tomorrow for detention. Original load time was no later than 2300 yesterday.
At this rate, I'm gonna be the guy out there in the parking lots offering to polish your wheels for a buck apiece!
