You will also find that the cell service is not that great there. For some reason it is bad at all of the Mav terminals!

Good Luck! You made a great choice of companies!

First time posting in your thread Jim. Just wanted to say I enjoy reading the posts of another flatbedder! This is my first winter in a big truck too. I got stuck in a snow storm this past monday in central PA. I took it easy, and made it through safely, but not with out the typical bs on the cb "this rookie is going to slow" crap. Oh well, I wasnt going to go blazing through In my first time out in the snow just to put it in a ditch.

Anyways, I look forward to reading more posts. You mavericks load out of some of the same places we do.

Got 2 meet our trainer. Told us what to expect about the trucking buisness and so on. This people are really straight forward with what is this job is about. Got our warning about the grass... and just pretty much just fill paperwork.
Tomorrow I think we will do some physical tests and agility. Hope to be fit enough for this job......

Maverick really takes serious the fact that they want you to be in good health to perform your job. I went through a complete physical and an agility test. No problems so far. Also the head of the safety department talked to us today about the importance of doing it the Maverick way out there.
Got some homework tonight ready for our driving test tomorrow!

Not really...covered wagons are OK, but a Conestoga with ice or wet snow on top of it is next to impossible to open.

I'll stick to my tarps :biggrin_25525:

Passed my driving exam! We all love those automatics! I don't have to much experience behind in this business, but I can tell you that it takes a lot of stress of your shoulders not having to shift one of this things! I think the overall moral of our small class went up today since nobody has gone home since day 1, and we have made it this far. I guess if we make it 2 more days Maverick is going to offer us job!
