If transport company can eliminate 3rd party specially like CHROBINSON, that fight lfor ess money more loads per trip(heavier),there would have plenty money and time left for drivers to drive ,and owners to maintain their trucks as DOT regulations.
The essential money is not even going to the poor brokers that work under these 3rd party brokers, it is going for the fat cats that never touched a truck in their life. Sorry
chrobinson worst 3rd party

C.H. = Cheap and heavy
-
I've pulled plenty of C.H. Robinson crap freight as a company driver for various outfits over the years, and I didn't have a single load through them that went off without some kind of FUBAR freaking problem. I've heard through some of the O/O's that they have decent freight, but I've never seen it. Crappiest-assed broker I've ever dealt with, and after a while I, who hate turning down freight, started refusing C.H. Robinson loads unless absolutely forced by circumstances (like needing to move the truck to a better load region to keep earning them dollars, or cents, whatever the case may be.)
rocknroll nik Thanks this. -

Detention time for 2 days
$300
Better than nothing but still absurd. We should have threw the crap off the truck but we were promised a PER HOUR detenton rate... guess it was minimum wage???? -
The loads are not cheap unless you take it at a cheap rate. Just because a load is offered at a cheap rate doesn't mean that you need to take it. Like all brokers, CH Robinson has good and low paying freight. Some are heavy and others are not. I am not necessarily a fan of CHR or any other broker, but it is up to the owner of the truck to make the decision as to what rate he is willing to accept to haul a load. If he hauls cheap freight then it isn't the fault of the broker. After all, the broker didn't hold a gun to his head and force him to haul the load. There are a lot of brokers. You can also go direct to shippers and find your own freight. Perhaps those who complain so much should concentrate on honing their negotiating skills or spend time developing their own in-house accounts.
chalupa, Les2, Native Dancer and 1 other person Thank this. -
The other thing that people seem to forget is that an outfit like Cheap and Heavy Robbin ya does is give the better paying freight to the companies with a a good safety rating.
I actually met a guy who just started working for CHR and I warned him that he would take some abuse from drivers about the cheap freight. He was the one that told me about the safety criteria....just some food for thought there gang.twinturbotrans Thanks this. -

I'd say 50% of my freight is from C.H.R. and all my trucks average 1.80-2.20 per mile on all their miles...believe it or not i could care less....the problem is not with C.h.r but with companies that take cheap freight, if they learn how to say NO to cheap freight it will be a better place for everyone
rocknroll nik and Les2 Thank this.
