Hello!
I live in Bedford, KY and am considering Maverick. I think they have a dry van division. I also like U.S. Express. My driving school class (Roadmasters) will start 1/10/2011. Good luck.

I have hauled a lot out of ghent, a few times out of shelbyville. Have also taken a few loads to jeffboat on the river. There is 2 places almost side by side we haul out of jeff, but not that often. At least with me anyway.

Maverick's covered wagon's are a dying breed.

how are the trucks set up? model, engine, apu, fridge, microwave, or inverter
-
New trucks are 2010 and 2011 Cascadia's with an electric APU and a 1000 watt inverter and DD15 engine, microwave and fridge are up to you. They are still running some 06 and 07 Columbia's equipped with 60 series Detroits that do not have APU's or inverters, you can have your own inverter installed in these units. Most if not all units are Ultra-Shift transmissions.

At 62 I don't know yet whether I want to be a flat bed driver. I am doing a career change since I was laid off a year ago. I've been a fan of trucking for years and start driving school 1/10/11. Does Maverick have dry van opportunities. I live in Bedford, KY and from what I have learned, they are only hiring flat bed trained or experienced drivers. Thanks for your help! Talk to you on the road soon, I hope.
Phil
P.S. What about "Tommy Bahama" as a cb handle? Would it go over? I always scoff at their $100 shirts. I once wore this name on my hard hat. -
they have any termenals in il?
-
We have a terminal in Madison Il.
Living in the freight lanes is what is important more so than being by the terminals.
