Most companies now want at least 6 months VERIFIABLE employment regardless of what type of job you apply for and it is not discrimination.

It may have been a blessing in disguise, keep checking around, most but not all, want you to have been employed...

It's not unusual, in fact its common in the industry. A carrier will invest quite a bit of money in you getting you to the point where you'll actually be able to provide some return in delivered loads. They want to know that you'll last more than a week. There's quite a bit of turnover in first-year drivers.

So get a job - any job, and stick to it. Also know, you need to keep on applying to any and all trucking companies - your object is to get into the industry, and get your all important year or two of experience. Then you can go where you would like to in terms of a job.

IMPORTANT! Your CDL has a shelf-life of about 6 months - you need to be employed by a trucking company before then!!

    Yup.

Walstib... don't even start. You passed some serious training, only to go work for an outfit that thinks CDL-mill school plus 10 days of orientation makes a truck driver. I don't care what you or the koolaid drinkers in Missoula tell you, what W&S turns out in general are dangerousously undertrained low-time drivers - I've seen it.

Their safety record says otherwise...Darn those pesky facts huh?

And what's Prime's excuse for a worse safety record since they've all been trained by experts like yourself? hmmmm

    Yes those PESKY facts

Fact 1 ) PRIME has 5.2 times the trucks as W&S

Fact 2 ) PRIME trucks did 8.9 TIMES the mileage in 2009 as did W&S

FACT 3 ) PRIME had 4.7 TIMES the inspections as W&S with basically the same # of out of services as W&S.

And based on the # of PRIME trucks compared to W&S , PRIMES FATAL accidents , and TOWS are below the average of W&S while PRIMES INJURY stats are higher.
