Doing research on starting a new career.... I am retired military- 19 years and have worked at where I am now for 12 years doing service work and put on about 40,000 miles a year.... I have read alot of post from the new-bies and from the vet's in this industry and see that there are extreme views, both good and bad.. as there are in any industry. I do see that the Community College route seems to be more popular than the CDL (Mill) schools... but am looking at SAGE in Ft. Pierce, FL.. because of their 1 on 1 in-truck driver training.... Location list it as Indian River Community College??? Does anyone have any info on them.. ??? I have enough money saved to pay for this, so won't need any of the "Extreme" student loans... and also, what are the job prospects after completion ??? Thanks in advance for any advice.....

Welcome. If I were going to a school I would prefer a CC, but thats just me. I think job prospects will be good..even though the typically slow season ( between Christmas and spring) is almost here. There is always somebody, somewhere, hiring...if you don't have any derogatives on your license. Good luck.
