Becoming a O/O is not all that it's cracked up to be. But you can make a decent stable living with it if you work at it.

I've said it once and I'll say it again.... Leasing to a good company will make you money's and a stable life. a ( GOOD ) carrier.

If you want headaches? Go right ahead and get your authority!

I myself would rather own this small fleet and leave the BULL #@%^ to the carrier! I dont want the responsibility.

    Just my opinion....
    All the best,
    Matthew

(Talked to Central) Dispatch about the DHing....
The Matthews Trans Co, is willing to now DH 100 Free... For a while...
I told then we are in the business to make money not run for free and if our numbers show a loss... We'll think about another carrier.....

They seem to think our bottom line will not change... ( will see ).

Beaver Teaser posted: " Dude, basically, you done the right thing, that load was /is crap.. regardless of back haul.
get it good going out , preferably as if no back haul exist, but reasonable i.e. pay for operating costs, then when you accept back haul, make sure its still within reason of time + costs."

That is the basic business principle. Occasionally, you can take any load that covers your variable costs and contributes to fixed costs. It may not be a profitable load, but your fixed costs are there regardless.

In our next class we will discuss the principle: Sell Below Cost and Our Volume Makes Up For It. lol.

Being the fleet owner do you think my carriers customer would have an issue with us telling then to drop the cost's of CARRIER / Shipper relations and We'll just LEASE out our trucks to them (the shipper) . lol

Thus revealing the whole middle man BS.

I do agree with the backhaul paying fuel on the majority of the entire run.

740+FSC plus, backhaul at 4/500 +FSC = Still an ok choice!

    Got it!

Thanks for all your help... And the comments on the TOPIC!

Be safe, and dont forget to keep the shiny side upright and the rubber on the road, Bro's!!! 10-4?

    All the best,
    Matthews

Rushing on LOADS and trying to get more than 1 load in, on a LEGAL log book this is what can happen....
