I dont even know you and I can HEAR you saying that. :biggrin_2554:

I am looking for something 'unique' right now and felt that w/o owning or renting a trailer that this wasn't all that bad of a deal - at least for the moment...I haven't signed or anything, I am just reviewing the materials they sent me. Nothing ventured nothing gained I guess...:biggrin_25512:
But thats why I posted. When I look into something, I ask and ask and ask....

Schneider requires one year O/O experience for the choice program. The JB thing has been beat to death. Have you ever seen the "search" button up top???? use it. JB's great if you want to stand in a soup line for food

JB is king of the "haul this 100 mi load then sit three days waiting for your next load that you deadhead 400mi for and haul that 150 mi"

See attached file: Hybrid Packet 09-22-10.pdf)(See attached file:
    Operating region.pdf)

I need independent carriers who operate under their own authority to help
us move our company freight. This is consistent round trip freight in our
trailers running through out the mid-west, south, south-east, and east
    coast regions.

    Current program offerings include:

Maintain your own operating authority - this is not a traditional Owner
    Operator program
Quick Pay , speed up your payments, as quickly as 48 hours or less after
    load completion
    Cash Advance options.
Utilize our vast customer base consisting of many Fortune 500 companies
    80% preloaded trailers
    60% drop and hook delivery
    100% no touch freight
24 hour support group on call for you.
No trailer maintenance. We provide the trailers and maintain them free
    of charge!
No brokers or loadboards, just one direct contact with JB Hunt.
Consistent freight all the way around

Allow us to help you reduce your freight frustration and to keep your
trucks rolling. There are no contracts to sign, allowing you to maximize
your revenues by participating in our Power Only program and continuing to
    service your current customers.

    How it pays,
Less than 200 miles pays 70% of the line haul and 100% of accessorial, i.e.
fuel, detention, ect. Pays 1.50-2.00 per mile
200-599 miles pays $1.17 plus fuel surcharge
600-699 miles pays $1.12 plus fuel surcharge
700 plus miles pays $1.10 plus fuel surcharge
Deadhead pays $0.60 per mile up to 100 miles
Current fuel surcharge is .28 cents per mile
Over all monthly average is 1.45 per mile

I have attached the application to this email, PLEASE DO NOT DELETE
IT, YOU CAN USE IT FOR FUTURE CHANGES TO YOUR ACCOUNT WITH US. Give me a
call if you have any questions or need help with the insurance

JD, no harm no foul, and nothing wrong with asking. I just think this jb *unt power only deal that they're offering to guys with their own authority, is like akin to the fleace lease garbage plans they also offer.

Get your own trailer and start aiming at a price you dictate, rather than what BFIs want to make off of you. Wis is a great freight market (outbound).

IMO, if you drag their trailers under the PO "arrangement" you should be dictating the price to them not the other way around.

    RAG and Hanadarko Thank this.

J.D., good research on this program. I got the package got back in the summer and I had to re-read the "lingo" several times to get the proper understanding.

I see that it has its advantages, you can pull their trailers to different cities. Or use your own trailer, and tote their freight. Yeah, the rate is kinda low, but J.D. you have I reaching for: NO TRUCK PAYMENT!!!! Low overhead. I know your not driving at this time. But you are setting up yourself for success.

You have greater "flexibility" than others on this forum. Many on this forum express the futility of the trucking business. They are being "real", letting you what the real deal is and there are the "haters". Ask the "haters", where else can you go? Those "haters" say get into something else. Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Manufacturing, etc. Nobody is hiring in those fields and they are laying off workers. But I see "your" perseverance and determination. And of course, times (trucking industry) has changed from 20 years ago.

As long as your not "committed" to them (get your own loads) and you can get your loads with or without their trailers, go for it. If you "jump in" I would like to know how you are handling it. Keep "us" advised. Later.

JBH requires $1mil of General Liability. Progressive (my current carrier) doesn't even offer that in my state.

So I am off to do some insurance shopping. Gears offered me his contact person. She has helped out several on this board. I hope he gets a nice bottle of Jack or something at XMAS time for referrals!

Today I plan on reading through this long-and-winded agreement with JB.
As long as there are NO minimums or things like that, I cant see any harm in signing up with them. I don't have to pull for them and there isn't an exclusivity clause that I can find in there either. So what's wrong with at least being setup...?

I got the same sales pitch but honestly you could just pick up loads off internet truck stop and do better than that. The per mile rate is terrible and to add insult to injury they are shaving at least .10-.20 per mile of the fuel surcharge off the loads.
