WOW, This is old...... let see here...

There is a credit check. CRST acts as its own credit union and do a basic credit check basicly making sure your not behind with the IRS, child support, or any other reason the government could come in a take your truck before its paid off.
    True.
Only a small number where Eagle class most where stripped down base modles. Now you will only be issued a Freightliner Columbia with a 515 Detroit cut back to 425 and an EF straight 10. CRST cant seem to keep a steady company doing their maintance. They had one walk out on them about 2 years ago (Hawkeye) and now the current one is packing their bags as we speek (FMS). Now if you consider 40k-50k miles between oil changes and pulling parts off of wreaked trucks before buying new parts for your truck to be good service then more power to you.
Dose not count glass, tires or body work as bumper to bumber. And the guaranteed maintance comes out of the .11 per actual mile your charged to drive loaded, empty, or home. Also if you need major repairs (engine rebuilds and alike) you are on your own and CRST will continue to charge you your weekly payment even if it is stuck in their shop. Watched them take 4 1/2 weeks to rebuild a girls truck that was caused by them not replacing a head gasket right. Engine blew and she ended up homeless waiting for her truck to get out of the shop while she had no money.

See above post. Outdated info. None of this equipment is available any more.

$35,000 - $50,000 on 600,000+ mile trainer trucks usually with near bald tires you have to pay for replacements and bone dry fuel tanks as maintance drains lease trucks for running their yard dogs. You don't get to see the truck they give you until you sign the paperwork. They take the truck and make it good enough to trade in and thats the nway you get in. They will take good tires off and replace them with bald to keep the good ons in the fleet.

$290 is the low end I have seen as high as $400

Don't hold your breath on 80% d/n/h Its more like 30-40% but there very well could be a 2 to 1 trailer to truck ratio or even better now. But there is still a lot of them that are over 10 years old. They are constantly being shutdown by DOT. Doesn't sound that well maintained to me.

I'm really beginning to think your on CRST's payroll in the office. Your so hard core about pushing them. Yet I'm sure by what I have been reading that you have never driven for them. Like I said before good luck. But posting information that is outdated helps no one. I was going to go threw that whole pay thing but I'm tired. The bottom line is that after CRST double dips their percentage of the settlement (OOIDA is working on that one) you are left with between 41-47% of the settlement + f surcharge.

Well Ive just completed my 6th month with CRST and once again I can say I dont really have a problem with them. My dispatcher is a former driver so he understands and keeps us rolling, and hell Im making money and thats always good. The only beef I have with CRST is what Ive always said, I hate team driving.

There are tricks to getting things done at CRST. I trained students for them for almost a year.

    1. If you arent making deliveries on time and whining all the time, the dispatcher will be deaf and cant hear you. :biggrin_25516: It's also my understanding that the dispatchers get paid more for drivers that deliver on time. Give your dispatcher incentive to listen to you.

    2. Every Friday there are meetings with the "powers that be" and drivers at the Cedar Rapids terminal. Swing thru, attend a meeting, and politely address your concerns.

    3. Go above your dispatcher to the Fleet Manager and voice your concerns. Do so POLITELY. I couldnt get repairs done thru FMS so I made a list with times and dates and problems and went to the FM and she in turn sent me into a big wig's office and he listened and things changed immediately. I cant stress this enough- if you arent doing YOUR job properly, then why should they go out of their way for you? They WANT to keep good drivers.

Just to add my two cents worth on the Owner Op part of CRST-
I have four friends that drove for the O/O's divisions including CRST Malone and everyone lost their *ss. They kept getting offered freight so low that they basically hauled the load for free once CRST took out all their expenses and if they refused to haul these cheap loads sometimes they sat for days waiting on another dispatch.
