I would be in heaven making 200 a week BW. I am now dishwashing, caretaking property for my rent and start a part-time callcenter job for the holidays! Even if I got to drive one day a week I would probably make as much as I am earning now.

I just don't think anyone knows the future and what I am going to do is put one foot in front of the other every day and take life as it comes. I've stressed over which school, will I get a job, can I even make it through school, can I even get funding, what if I get hit by a bus crossing the street to go to school:biggrin_2559: I appreciate your input as well as everyone elses though:) best of luck to you in your endeavors:)

I have two points to bring up,
    # 1-- check out the acreditation of the schools, make sure that the majority of the companys that you would like to drive for accecpt grads from that school, call the various companys or check their web site, some will have a list of schools in your area.
    # 2-- get the Dmv book and use some of the various company web site practice tests, you should be able to walk into the DMV and get the written tests and your permit on your own, they are easy and a piece of cake, then go to the various schools and say that you have your permit already, and would like a discount for the class time you don't need. While you are at the schools, check out the equipment, you don't want to train in a day cab with a 26 foot pup, and then try to get around with a 240 Inch or longer wheelbase tractor and a 53 foot trailer .

Desperation on the cusp of madness! Senior citizen newbies.... At any rate, I just delivered some new Cascadias to Gordon; 61mph! The checker stated that Gordon turns'em down from there....:biggrin_25513:

If you run a forum search you will find threads on Gordon,-I ran into a Gordon drver bout 1 yr ago in Mt.,she was from the East & almost crying as she was unhappy with the governed speed of their trucks, but mostly, she HATED all the mountain driving...:biggrin_2556:

I can't immagine someone getting so emotional over the speed (or lack there-of) of thier truck. Are you sure?

I'm driving a 55 mph set to New England at the moment. The only good part is that merging traffic is often going faster than me so I don't have to change lanes!:biggrin_2559:
