I put my app in with these guys. There have been numerous adds for drivers down here around Tampa and didn't hear anything so I started calling, and calling, and calling. I've called at least 10 times and left messages each time but they have never called me back. I doubt it's my application. I just don't get it. Anyone else have this problem with them?

I answered an ad for Florida Rock tanker drivers about 20 years ago as I recall. I was making about $35k a year doing LTL at the time; the interviewer stated their top driver only earned about $32k per year? After all of these years, I have yet to drive a tanker.

I still remember the driver who got killed in Florida back in the '80s on I-95 around St Augustine when his recap steer tire blew out. Thinking it was a Clay Fuels tanker. Have seen a number of nasty fuel truck accidents in my lifetime; they leave an impression. There is an MGM Transport terminal literally within walking distance of my house.....

It's TMT and not MGM as posted. Thinking TMT is based in the Raleigh - Durham area. Anyone have working knowledge of this outfit?

The best way to get on with Fl rock is to just go to a terminal and apply. If you have tanker exp they will usually hire you. Only problem with them is you get the crap runs for the first year, little money.
