    Attention all drivers.....

please do not sign a lease purchase agreement with this company....your percentage is only 68%......then your deductions begin.....

no driver has been there longer than 3 months, and the ones that are still driving are basically homeless because they lost everything including their families.....no matter how desperate you are ......you will regret it.......

their lease purchase is worst than most of the lease owner operators have successfully argued and won in federal courts...

do not listen to angela harlow....she just recruits and get bonus for your warm body.....do not listen to john henry........nasty and rude....they have orientation every week. So figure out with 15 guys........extremely high turnover rate

when speaking with the guys in the cafeteria not one of them have ever received a paycheck......

Please contact me before you make this awful decision....please contact me if you know anyone who currently is in the position with this company...or who had former dealings with the lease purchase program...

I am preparing a brief to be presented to have this company answer to their deceptive practices......

    Thank you

The CSA 2010 Report for Perkins Specialized have been released

Driver Fitness 80.9% (on the road)
they received the Alert on this one, and intervention has been required.
    Controlled Substance and Alcohol 14%
Vehicle Maintenance 70.2%, if they received an hire they would have been shut down....

    MC # 102817
    DOT 70837

Please before you sign onto any lease purchase or any company please check out the safety ratings....The above ratings means that company has now been targeted for intervention (more roadside inspections and puts more pressure on you....Be careful and safe

Please contact me at mgerwer@gmail.com if you had any dealing with Perkins in past, present...

    Thank you

Have a great and safe day.......

I worked for them for a few months. Perkins dispatcher told me one thing that I can believe and that is true. He told me that he doesn't care if I'm sick or tired he doesn't care his priority is to the load.6 weeks ago I had a accident requiring 20 stitches in my left arm.I was told to drive the truck home from Kentucky to st louis and they would defer the payments while off on medical leave recovering.they told me to drive it home and did not want me to drop off truck in huntinburg and catch a bus.I drove all the way with one arm. After 2 weeks off they did not defer the payments like they promised.for 6 weeks I received 0 paychecks.while that time frame they had me Run a load out of Texas with ultimately was discovered to be contaminated with radiation.they said they would not pay exta on that.I lost 8 hrs loading and 5 hours unloading.they want to use your cell phone to call you up to hurry you along.basically not wanting to put illegal things on qual-com.they electronically disabled the starting system on my truck not once but twice as soon as they found out I had a new job as punishment.here it is close to Christmas and I have no money for Christmas and they wanted me to keep going that within a month I should be out of debt with them leaving me in debt with the rest of the world.I will never work for these clowns again. They disabled the truck so I can't get it back to them.if you decide to work for these clowns good luck.

You know? This reminds me of Alaskan huskies. The master is driving his dog for hours. Barely any rest. They have to push that sled for there master. What then would happen if they stop pulling that sled in the middle of that snow. I guess the master would have. To fight off the wolves aka the shippers late that day.huh.oh well mush boy mush .

I've seen good times and hard times over the last 3 years I've been with Perkins.
15 guys is a lot to have at orientation? I've heard that U.S. Express has 75 guys EVERY week!

I'm not surprised by the csa rating. No doubt, I've contributed to it. But pre-csa, it wasn't relevant and we made a lot of money regardless. I have the tax returns.

What was considered a good driver only a few short years ago, is now thought of as an "outlaw" trucker.

All I can say is, I'm still here and I'm still making it. Not everyone whom comes here does. But that's nothing new to the lease-purchase market either.
But I'm sure they can goto Crete and turn 1500-2000 miles a week for them.

I have been with Perkins since last November and find it hard to believe what your saying has any merit. There have never been any arguments in federal court against Perkins or the lease purchase program. As far as I am concerned they have one of the best lease purchase programs in the industry. There have been a few low spots for me but I can truely say they were my fault. If you do not turn in your invoices then how can you expect to be paid on them.
I also have spoken to many lease purchase drivers that have been there longer than 3 months. I am making great money at Perkins and this is after my truck payment, insurances, etc. They pay 70% of the load for van plus fuel surcharges. They give 100% of anything they collect from the companies. This is more than I can say for other companies that tell you they give 100% of the fuel surcharge to the driver, but this is after they take their cut off the top. Perkins keeps none of the fuel surcharge.
If someone is homeless then I really doubt that working at Perkins for a month caused it. Or if they lost their family I really doubt Perkins caused it.
I am happy with how I am treated and they care if I am sucessful. It takes effort on my part because I am running my business. I can not go home every weekend and I can not sit around waiting for the perfect load. If you are not moving you are not making money. As long as they keep me moving and have great paying freight I am staying.

Don't they have little cranes inside their trailers?

No. I think cranes are a Federally-protected species. Therefore, it's illegal to keep em inside trailers!
