i'm saying that a wired connection is much faster then using the wireless connection. but it's still faster then 3g or and way faster then the old evdo.

sprint doesn't charge for internet. EVERYTHING is included in one whole package for $70. unlimited text, mobile to ANY carrier mobile, internet, gps, email. you get 450 minutes that's only used if you call a landline phone. but is free after 7 p.m.

sprint don't make you wait till 9 p.m. for offpeak calling. sprint don't control your phone like other carriers. they don't load you with bing and other crap that most don't want. they don't block your gps from using 3rd party software. locking you into using there own software so they can charge you that extra fee.

with other carriers, you live by there rules. and you pay there prices. you get no freedom in how you use your phone. so don't expect the luxury i have with my phone without paying the piper. and i haven't heard anyone getting whacked for using too much internet with sprint.

$80 for spint becuase i have there 4g service. as for the air card. never had it. i've always used my phone as my internet modem for my laptop. before the aircard was ever invented. i'm not paying $60 for air card when my phone does the same thing for free.

how much do you all pay? and don't tell me it's all about the signal. cuz i was out in the boonies using the internet when the company V phone wouldn't even make a phone call. all carriers have there bad spots.

and pdanet is available for blackberries too. but i don't know if verizon will allow it to work as far as using the blackberry as a modem for the laptop. those of you still using blackberries will have to check out the blackberry forums.

yall might hate sprint. but i love the freedom of doing whatever i want to do with my phone. and i'm not going broke. been with them 10 years now becuase they've always been the lowest price.

and data plan IS the internet.

as for root. it's basically having a stock phone that is hacked to allow programs that need privileged permission to be useable. don't ask my why that is. i would think a program should be able to work no matter what. but apparently that's not the case.

it's no big deal to me. my phone is stock, it just has the hack. other then that it works just like a stock phone without the hack. only thing it don't do is the updates. which we don't do cuz then we lose our programs untill they get updated. so i usually wait for the same version software to include the update and root. AND the programs i run to get updated.

I have to agree Verizon price wise SUCKKKKKKKKK but a friend had sprint and he was dropping calls left right and center, he now has AT & T. I looked at the sprint aircard and it was unlimited if I used 3G not the 4G otherwise it was 5 gigs for $58.00.

From what im reading I don't think Verizon will be able to tell if I use the pdanet but not sure will have to see, I am cancelling the aircard as soon as I get to Oregon to pick up my phone, so hope there is a way I can use the laptop, with getting older I need the bigger screen at times lol:biggrin_25522:

Hey CD, most data plans do include internet the problem is the pricing, ATT and sprint will give you a set price, verizion is kinda iffy but they offer the better system. I would take your bill to all 3 at one of their stores and get there opinoin on what your bill could be and then make a calculated guess.

After going to Best Buy I have decicded to um WOW now I am really confused to many choices....

Dinner is on so talk later

cell phones. 4g is unlimited. 3g has the cap. i woulda thunk 4g aircards were supposed to be the same.

why waste time talking to multiple stores when pricing is all right there on the internet. attwireless.com. sprintpcs.com. verizonwireless.com. tmobile.com.

pick out a ph one you'd like with each carrier. go through the motions of picking out the plans that will suit y our purpose as if your going to buy a phone. and make sure you read ALL that is offered. when it comes time to checkout. it'll give you a price for the phone and your monthly billing price.

    compare prices AND ALL services.

i have learned that the internet is WAY smarter then ANY sales rep at ANY retailer.

how come i'm the only one in the world that has never had a dropped call in 10 years?:biggrin_25514: other then when i'm in a spot that has absolutely no signal for any carrier. there's a 1500 foot section on my way to yard and home.

pdanet requires both phone and pc. you can download onto the phone through marketplace. but the pc will have to download from the websight. (junefabrics.com) make sure your all setup before you cancell the card.

pdanet is free on the phone. but it won't access secure websights. (bank accounts). it cost $23.95 if you want secure sites. easy tether is also free. but $9.95 if you want secure sights. it also has to be installed on both phone and pc.

download unrevoked on your phone using market place. it will give you root privileges. then download wireless tether from marketplace. then you'll have wireless connection for 2 thingies. for FREE.

don't forget a car charger. your using a real phone now. and batteries don't last long on real phones. no offense intended to the basic phone user. :biggrin_2559: you should be able to find them at pretty much any store now. i have 2 i picked up at a gas station for $10. it's a micro usb plug which is pretty much standard these days.

one of these days i'm getting off my arse after the holidays and ordering a battery from amazon for $20. i think it's just a teeny bit thicker. but it'll give me 50% more capacity.

A list of what I drove... (All were local jobs except PFG Foods)

As I was in truck school in 2004 (All State Training outside South Philadelphia)

1.)I worked at a metal recycling center driving a 1973 Brockway tri-axle, and a Mack Daycab and a semi dump trailer.
2.)Next was a 3000 gallon single axle Mack tanker hauling Heating oil.
3.)Next was an International day cab with a 38 foot pup trailer, and an Izusu box truck. (I should've stayed here, concrete additive dealer.)
4.)Mack Daycab with 45' tanker hauling milk to Wawa processing plant.
5.)PFG Foods, driving Freightliner sleeper with 53' foot refer. (Badly injured knee during training, and lost WC case, long story)
6.)Mack Granite Tri-axle dumps in 2007, and started driving trucks again from August 2010 till now.
7.)Mack Granite, and single axle tanker for heating oil place here in town.(Currently waiting for Hazmat background to go through showing i'm not a terrorist. :biggrin_2554:)
8.) In spring, have a job lined up to drive the sweeper trucks, locally paying $17.50 an hour to start, with plenty of work.)

I know it was a LONG list of jobs, but I have a family to care for.

    Do you use a GPS?

We are in Winnemucca nv still.. we left here this morning at 0700 and get 2 miles down the road and the temp on the truck spikes and check engine light comes on:biggrin_2554: So we pull over and have a look and can see a trail of Anti-freeze but in the dark can't see where its coming from:biggrin_25524:, Soooo JJ decides we will limp it down the road to the Mill city TA and have them look at it, they look and find that we need a new holding tank and of course they don't have one so they send us 20 miles back up the road to Maga repairs and they don't have one either but can get one overnighted from Vegas hmmmmmm.

Our shop called us back and they are sending one down with another driver, he should be here late this afternoon and the maga place is going to put it in, so I guess JJ will be driving tonight again lol.
