well im sent futher from home for xmas whos screwing u too

lets be real you can't all way be home on a centain day or weekend or holliday its just to many factor in OTR Trucking.

 

It's a tough job. But someones got to do it!!

I'm home when I want to be home. On the day I want to be home. And home for how ever long I want to be home.

Like many before you and many thousands after you,your days out here are much shorter then you "now realize",but it will come without fail.

Holiday "celebration" has long since been an erosion of this nation
Ive given up years of birthdays,Christmas,Anniversaries and yes holidays
trying to pave a better way for my family.

Many thousands before me and many after will all pay their dues to this industry in order to survive the trials and tribulations.

Disgusted . . . . that people can no longer work for their keep

 

lol, so what. If your idea of celebrating the holidays is to hang out in a pilot and eat canned ham and green beans, then go for it. Life is to short and if a company cant appreciate a driver and his sacrifices, then i say...clean the truck out, drop the load in the yard. Make sure you drop it so that its pinning the entrance. And throw the keys in the ditch. I would not want to be in that dispatcher's shoes if he had me stranded on christmas.

Well, the OP still had 4 days to get home in time for xmas since posting that - just seems like whining to me.

Didn't say how much "further" is, 500miles? 1000? ... still plenty of time to get back to most parts of the country.

 

For some companies maybe. I was home thanksgiving, christmas and almost every weekend and was OTR. Depends on the company.
