:biggrin_2551:My thinking is what I was told a long ago.
" If you arrive early, you got there on time. If you arrive on time, you are late. If you ARE late, SOMEBODY screwed up."
Some of these receivers can be hard hard to deal with, but they are the boss.

I pulled walmart and sam's trailer's, i loved it when they told me i had to wait a hour or so. i would tell them no problem i called my dispatcher and in 10 minutes after words i was being unloaded! and i never had a sam's where i could not get to a restroom, you just can't get into the rest of the building.

Somethings wrong with this post. I've delivered to Sam's DC in Loveland for years, as well as the grocery DC in Cheyenne and N. Platte. They always let us in early, I've seen guys arrive 12 hrs early at Loveland and told to park in the staging area until 1 hr before their apt. time them come and check in.

    N. Platte and Loveland both have huge signs that say if your late more then 5 minutes (that means arrive at Security more then 5 minutes late) your counted as late and they reserve the right to reschedule you or slip you in when there is an opening.

The Sam's in question was in University Park. This is my third week, so I haven't been here before, so basically I have to go on what others are saying before I find it out for myself.

Maybe they have a no bathroom policy, I don't know now because we didn't get there.

I'm extremely easy to get along with, so I always approach the customer with a smile and friendly small talk. It seems to work for me. She has this weird hot and cold personallity, and if she catches me asking them how their day is going she usually tells me I'm not here to make friends.

Personally, I think asking how you're doing, how's the day, even if for a brief moment, will get you remembered for all the right reasons out here. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would like to keep the personallity I came here with.

Now, with the bathroom. When we came up to this stop we were a good 6 hours early, so she thought it wouldn't hurt to stop and keep going after we slept because the roads were still icy and she insisted this place was a no no on the bathroom and parking. Well, while we in the bathroom for about 5 minutes was when the message came through.

Maybe we should invest in a port-a-potty, lol.

pretty sure every dc ihave been at has a bathroom---but right about the no parking---most wont let you in until 1 hr before appt
just make sure tho---that your dm realixes its her screw up not yours
usually at a lot of dc's you can find a spot where everybody else sits and waits just outside the gate someplace

It is always a good idea to make nice with the customer. It does pay off in the long haul (forgive the pun). Most places do remember the drivers and it could work in your favor if you are friendly. Nobody says you have to socialize with them, but you are right in being cordial and polite, it's what sets the pace between you and the customer. Sounds like your trainer might have issues with your ability to play nice with others. Maybe she doesn't have that skill, in which case, it would suck to be her.

When it comes to the customer, you keep doing what your doing, your company will appreciate the positive feedback.
