If you are constantly worried about home time, maybe it's not for you. When I drove for ATS, a month at a time was common. It depends on wether your better half can handle their end.

Is Maverick using any of the electronic HOS recorders on it's trucks yet and if so how's it working out? Also, do Maverick drivers have a long wait when delivering or picking up and how's tarping in the winter? Just want to know what to expect when I soon begin with them.

I have to soundly and loudly disagree with you. I was told the same thing on the Prime board when I was first looking into trucking. I found Maverick and in 9 months I have only been out 2 weeks. You do not have to replace or do without your family to be in trucking. You just have to find a company that realizes that Family is more important.
The only reason you have to stay out longer with some companies, is because they do not want to put forth the effort it takes to make sure you get loads that will put you in a position to make it home or through the house weekly. It is much easier to just send you on the next load that is nearest you and worry about getting you home when you request it.
Those companies are not for me! Spending time with my family is more important....and talking to them on the phone is not spending time with them.

    sewerman and dollylama Thank this.

JimTheHut, when you say home for the weekend, what is a typical weekend? When do you usually get home and when do you leave back out? I know it depends on your drop for Monday, but just trying to get an idea what to expect.
