Welcome to the no money club. Work 80+ hours per week, get paid for 40. Stay out 3-4 weeks, get a measly 1-2 days off. Stay with company 10 years... for a lousy 2 or 3 week vacation. It's a big joke. I'm only doing it to pay the stinkin' bills until I manage to screw my head on right and figure out something else where I don't have to be a slave or be married to any stinkin' company. I already have a another business going so it should only be maybe a year or so before I toss the keys back in their face.
how do you become a truck driver with no money?

You will be a "truck driver with no money". -
well i think you could be better off going to outside cdl school then going to the trucking companies schools. you wont be tied to some of these crooks. you wont feel like you are trapped in a bad situation if one should arise.

If you are a vet you can get the VA to pay for your training / truck driving school. Thats how I did it with out getting stuck to to anyone...

The ironic thing is I took the dole for about 3 months, got a job with a national carrier about a month later, and had my own unit within 5 months. Yet I could have still collected unemployment (from the job I lost) untill about last July,,,,, no wait, actually I think I MIGHT still be eligable, if I'd never gotten another job in the meantime.
Ain't that a kick? -
Get a CDL and you'll be a truck driver with no money. -
-Take the test and get your learners permit.
-Find an o/o that will teach you and let you practice on the weekends til you can handle the truck.
-Pay him to meet you at the DMV for the drive test with his truck.
-After you are awarded with your CDL, work for anyone that will hire you until you get a years experience. (even if it's driving a dump or garbage truck)
-Once you can show a company 12 mo. of commercial driving experience, they will put you with a "mentor" (driver trainer) for 6 months.
Note that so far you still ain't where you want to be, but If you want it bad enough and never give up, you'll do fine! There are ALOTA good men that will help you once ya show them something! Just when yer about to fall flat on yer face,,,someone will help you. OR,,,you could whine about how someone owes you something all the while asking "why are they so mean to me?" like so many here do.

If you have no money try applying for a state grant for a new job training. That is what I did and the state of TN paid for most of my cdl school. Simply walk into your local unemployment office and ask who you need to talk to for a grant. I would not suggest going with a company like PAM, U.S.A Truck or ect.... to get you your cdl permit or license. The reason why is:
1) You will be working for .26 or .28 cents per mile for a long, long time.
2) You might not get the training that you need to stay in the industry and have a solid career.
These companies might be a great option for some but the reality is you will be able to get .30 cents per mile or more after you graduate from a CDL school from a good company. Best of luck.... -
If your unemplyed you can get your schooling paid for by WIA funding.
