This a bit if a reply on this company. they do have length of haul. yet, you will do what you have to to get it there, barring fuel stops (get it?) and then if you try to say something about hours...they'll take about 800-1000 off you the next time. very el paso oriented. absolutely no understanding of recap, avlbl hours and the like. only peoplenet, txt message -like communication with the truck. cheapie, buy-it-at best buy gps sensor, no qlcmm-like dome, etc. no driver-oriented terminal acoutrements. pro-stars fun. nice. no log at their fuel island! and there are some other real tsk-tsk policies in effect. eventually scary with all the latest regulations.

If they are screwing you because you refuse to run illegal, then give them back the keys. they are not worth the ground you walk on.
-
oh, it's a done deal. like I said, SCARY.
-
If they mess with YOUR mind, why not mess with theirs ?
-
Don't take any chances if this outfit is trying to force u to run HOT

Funny this post pops up. The wife & I through much discussion & prayer have decided to turn in my keys. I won't say they ask me to run illegal, but at one time they did want me to leave the Dallas drop yard with a flat & limp 12 miles to the TA to save them money on a service call.
At times I bucked the system & returned attitude from on-road repair/planners/weekend dispatch with the like. I watched and waited as my miles dropped. My normal dispatcher & I finally understood each other & helped each other out with hot loads & home time. But my miles never came back. To sporadic. I went from 3500+ to 2400-2600. To me those miles are not good enough under a forced dispatch & staying out 4-5 weeks.
The staying out is my choice. As you know when you break a good cycle of miles, it tends to take a week to 10 days to hit that cycle again. It hurts to come home only to garner a next check of $300-$400.
One of my biggest gripes after the miles is driver comfort. They could give a rats behind for yours. Freeze or cook....I prefer to freeze as I can stay bundled & get my rest opposed to toss & turn in your own sweat & mosquito's wanting in to finish you off while never fully resting in the sweltering heat.
Only once I had to raise a fuss over being shorted $200. It took a week, but it got sorted out. Also I didn't like they force you by payroll deduction to buy, ($25), your company ID badge. They say it's reimbursable when you quit, they're only trying to keep you from loosing it while employed. We all know that money will never see our bank accounts.
In 2010 I've had 4 random DOT inspections including logs. The only infractions were minor & with the equipment; not enough to shut me down. Safety though put me in their target and audited me & audited me all the while harassing me every time in El Paso. I lost out of two fuel/on-time P/U-Delivery bonuses for the mere fact I wasn't logging a cash advance as a fuel stop. They were telling me my fuel stops were falsified because they did not match my logs/receipts. The second time they called me in and scolded me, I had enough & argued back the only place I buy fuel was where they instructed me. That's when the girl let me know it was probably a cash advance. That conversation showed me I was working for a big animal & with 1000 company drivers they played the numbers by sneakily taking bonus money from drivers every 3 months.
I've got other issues that I felt they took advantage of me, but it didn't affect me too much financially. So I just kept score until here recently & decided I no longer want to play with MVT.
So while I'm off this Christmas I'm looking for a new seat.TheRealPorkChopExpress and Big Duker Thank this. -
Good luck to you and I hope you get something much better. Employee ID...$25?? One thousand employees at $25 a pop is a pretty good little chunk of change.

They shorted me $93 on todays direct deposit....maybe it's everywhere; but it always seems like with this company it's always something that directly affects you negatively from the miles, equipment, respect, to payroll.
No explanation yet on the shortage. Didn't even show up on my on-line pay stub as worked.TheRealPorkChopExpress Thanks this. -
MVT is another company that requires 10,000 miles a month to keep your health insurance. Like it's a fuel bonus or something to have health care.
TheRealPorkChopExpress Thanks this.
