Hello all from the Dallas/FT worth complex... Lancaster "j" actually...made my delivery across the street from the yard, and only have 5 hours left of my 70, and 0 coming back friday... DM could not find the load I was requesting... Worland WY... Worland is not the final this week... He found it and asked me if I still wanted it, as the final is Butte MT.. first stop, Worland WY... Delivery on the 30 and 31. Sure I will take it.. A g1 was picking it up, already... repower set up for "j", and he has arrived with my load, but my 14 is about to expire, so I will set here tonight, and then start the drive north....
Restricted route here I come... Kip started to lecture me about winter weather, and I kindly reminded him I live in WYoming, Never leave home without a winter survival kit.
Great thing is, I will be home on the 26, only 180 miles from the first drop on the 30th. 3 days at home, and NO unpaid miles... now that is a christmas gift. Would be home on the 25th, but hours of service just will not let me..
Everyone enjoy the christmas holiday, even if you will not be home on the 25th.

The total deductions are about $100+/- from your $350 a week. If I remember right, I was netting like $220-260 a week depending on if the monthly deductions hit as well, or just the weekly ones. I also got the health/dental/vision plan etc.

I'll have to do some quick figures, with the wife working too, it may be possible. I'd rather go with Stevens than Prime, but I can't have my lights turned off either!!! I thought you were saying that you brought home 100+/-. 250 ish--we could probably make that work for a month.
Thanks again. -
Biggdadd, dont wanna scare you off from Stevens, but its gonna be more like 2 and 1/2 months at about 275 to 290.We do have some of the best training in the business. Now as far as Prime im not for sure, but if they said 350 thats gross.Gonna be making about the same there but for a longer period of time from what I understand. Now Im not totally certain on that,so ask more questions.I believe you have to train for a longer period of time at prime.BigDadd Thanks this.

Bigdadd, been w/Stevens three years and never ran less than 2200 miles in a week, even fresh outta school, maybe i was lucky.I averaged closer to 2800 miles a week, even as a grad driver.Good luck to you.BigDadd Thanks this.

End of my 12th day of training and I now have all my zones, both non jake mountains, NE dock and 4500 miles. Wooo Hooo!!!!
-
Prime is telling me I can get a $200/ week advance (I need to pay back # $25/wk) for the 1st 4 weeks until I get CDL. Then $600 a week with trainer for 3-6 months depending on how soon I go solo.

Thanks for the input. From what I've read, it looks like it is the same with most of the companies. If you shut up and do the work your given, you will get work. If you keep the wheels rollin, you'll make money. Keep a good relationship with you DM and life should be good.

THE TRUTH
And today is my one year anniversary with Stevens!
So far so good. Everyone on my fleet got home but one driver. I got home last night and leave out Sunday midnight or so.
Merry Christmas everyone! -
Smkr, Been reading your current stuff, you sound a little disappointed. I've been following you since the start of this thread and have enjoyed you Barracuda and Carver. Hope things are well!!! If any of you are in NW say hello to Tim Hoyt. He is running for H & M I'm not sure of his CB Handle.
