I've had days where I have stalled out the truck because I slammed it into the wrong gear.

Grind it 'til you find it!

We all have our good/bad shifting and backing days.

Not sure if it's just my truck, or if they are all like this, but I don't seem to remember any of the others I've had being this bad.

When I start running in the am and the tranny is cold, it wants to shift real slow. An exaggeration, but it really feels like I almost need to do a 1, 2, 3 count between gears.

Throughout the day, the shifts get faster. I figure that it's the oil in the tranny heating up.

At the end of the day, after 500+ miles, it wants to be really fast. Can get hard to actually move as fast as it sometimes wants to shift.

What kills me are when I hit the highway first thing in the morning and don't need to make a shift (other than maybe just hitting the button, since it's a Super10) for a few hundred miles. Then I hit an off ramp and have no idea of exactly how fast the tranny feels like shifting at that moment. I take a guess and sometimes I am right, other times it will grind a bit or even cause me to miss gears. Takes a few shifts to figure out how it feels like shifting before I get it right again.

I find I grind'em when I am getting too tired, and I also have trouble when first using the A/C during the summer (#### fan apparently slows the engine quicker).

Same here, especially in temps under 20f. That oil is like molasses and she needs extra 'count' time between shifts if I float. If I use the clutch, I can shift just fine usually...Once she's warmed up, she runs just fine.

Gotta love these cold climates and how they make life difficult.
