Anyone ever drink Yerba Mate? Google it up. It has a very small amount of caffine but has properties called xanthines that make for a nice non-jittery and well balanced energy. Has minerals, antioxidents and could be an anti-carcinogenic to boot! Try it over a cup of joe if you get the chance.

Not sure about the Yerba Mate, it sounds similar to a Mate which is an herb I brought from a country in South America and it's very popular there. It has some caffeine in it and it will keep you up but not give you the uncomfortable side effects of caffeine.

All I can say is be careful with anything caffeine related. If you are dead tired and keep using caffeine to stay awake, it can fry your adrenal glands. Pure black Coffee is always a little more "natural" as far as that goes, and less harmful to the body than soda. Energy drinks with all the additives (taurine, ginkgo baloba, ginsing) they put in with gobs of sugar are some of the worst things you can put in your body.

I am a coffee drinker,but if I know I am going into Chicago in the morning (or any Metro area)for that matter,I have LEARNED not to drink coffee,as the City will wake me up all on its own!!
