Been a couple good days. Did the repower out of Rawlins for a two dropper in Denver. Dispatched to meat patch. Left at 0200, got to Holcomb, was in and out inside of 30 minutes. Made Tucumcari by the end of my 11. Then left there this morning at 0200 again (I like the dark!) and about two hours out of Kingman got a repower. Meeting driver here at the TA in Kingman and taking the produce to Olney, IL. He'll deliver my meat to LA on monday.
So I'll keep running.
Next week and the week after are traditionally the two slowest weeks in the year for freight. I figured CA would be a disaster seeing how it nearly washed away this past week. you know there was no one out there picking in the fields so I figured I wouldn't get out of CA until late in the week.
Buon Natale, Melekalikimaka, Feliz Navidad, Felis Natal and Merry Christmas to all. -
Delivered a load of candy today in Victorsville(?) CA and picked up a nice light load of Salad from Redi Pak in Irwindale, Ca. Sitting at the drop yard in San Bernadino for the night while my trainer is with his GF. Leaving tommorow to deliver in Dallas by Monday. He is hoping to get a load back here from Dallas as he wants 3 or 4 days off for New Years.

Well, here we are, the slowest week for freight out of the year.
I delivered my load this morning, despite having to leave to go fuel the reefer. It was a live unload, but yet they insisted on having 3/4 full reefer fuel. Go figure. Then they took three hours to unload it.
Now I'm at the Pilot waiting for my next pickup, Wednesday morning.
sigh -
Got to love those intelligent guards, must have 3/4 tank, for a live unload... rules are rules. Merry christmas smokr...
I am Setting at home, don't deliver until thursday...
Everyone stuck in that east coast storm, be safe... 26" in Elizabeth NJ... -
Hello All!
Well I got my new start date (Jan 3rd) - had to leave for personal/family reasons so I will be starting the training program all over again. No real biggie, not like any of us can't use some additional training - plan on making the best of it - the time passes pretty fast anyways.
I plan on getting pre-qualified (or whatever they call it) for Alliance as soon as I can (during 90 day solo period).
I also wanted to give a shout out of THANKS to Emulsified, Corporal_Clegg, TLeaHeart, Smokr, Jes2red and countless others that I haven't listed here. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the information and comments these last months while waiting to get back to Stevens.
It has been a little like riding along with you folks these past few months. I look forward to continuing the dialog and perhaps meeting some of you out on the road or in the yard. Due to current finances it will be some time before I am able to replace my dead laptop, but can get some info via my phone - although the small screen is a bit of a hassle.
