Yes there are bad co's but You have only been driving 3mos,You are still wet behind the ears rookie, you don't have a darn clue. Why not get some serious experience before you start blasting these exp drivers. You are what's wrong with this business these days, you come into this business with attitude that you know it all and that is so far from the truth!!

When I started OTR all of my preconceived ideas about truck driving and most of my past work experience went out the window. A bonus is just a gimmic to hook new drivers. "With our fuel / on-time / safety bonus' you can earn another $2500.00 a year". It's right up there with "Our drivers average 3200 miles a week". Everyone has to eat a few of the crap sandwiches that most trucking companies freely serve up to the drivers, so make sure you have a tall cold glass of milk to wash 'em down! It's ok to disagree - but name calling never improves a person's credibility.

Looks like the company shills are giving you the bumrush to discredit your post. What you are experiencing is probably pretty typical of big company training hence the reccomendations of many on here NOT TO DO IT. The one valid response was you must not have researched and know that there is NO money in training no matter what the brochures and the 90 day wonders say. When I say training I mean learning how to drive the truck and work the business both mentally and physically. You can never win but just learning how to survive is the goal.

You are at a point that everyone hits when they realize that it is just a job and there is no big money or fame or even fun to be had. With that the next step is up to you. Can you live on what now realize the pay is going to be for a while? Do you have any viable job alternatives? (don't answer that here) Do you even like driving? If you don't like driving and being by yourself the rest of it does not matter. Now that you are three months into it, you might as well throw in the towel and stick with it. If you get a year and a half or two with your first company with a good safety record, that shows that you are a crap eater extrodianare and you will never have trouble getting a job of your choice. I'm not saying that from a super trucker perspective, I'm saying that from the view of someone who was going to quit after three weeks but got put on a local account by luck of where I lived and stayed with my first company for a year and a half and for the first five years that I messed with the big boys and even later when I did it again that one entry on my dac paid off for me. (along with no tickets and no accidents ever).

Now that your company is monitoring this thread I went back and looked at your posts and they know who you are by those posts so it is up to you if you want to continue posting publicly under this account.

Wish I had thought of some of that. Took me over an hour to do my post as I was doing other stuff while thinking about it and I didn't see yours so glad they match up.

Another point is that there is no green grass on the other side of that salvage yard fence so dont be reading the propoganda. Any other company that will take you with three months exp. will most likely be just like where you are at now.

The trucking industry has fallen on very hard times because of this economy. Many companies are struggling just to stay viable.
    .
Driving a tractor trailer is apparently not what the original poster was expecting. But that being said, your faulty view of what truck driving is all about, is just your failure to get a clear, objective and factual idea of exactly what you were getting yourself into. To bad. But as the above posters are telling you, truck driving is just not for you. Truck driving is not for everybody. Sorry to tell you.

In the military there are a couple of sayings, [bleep] happens so deal with it. When things don't go right, it is your opportunity to adapt, overcome and succeed. Considering how poorly this economy is performing, finding other employment will not be easy at all. Well, I wish you better luck at your future employment.

Please refer back to my response to one of Badabing's earlier posts. This latest little infantile post of his is further evidence....

you said this is your first company and you are only 3 months in, give it some time before you start bashing them. you are still such a newbie to the industry. you are not gonna start out making a 1000 dollars a week with them w/no previous experience as a trucker. just give it some time.

With his attitude, and lack of coherent statements and sentences, he will never be happy. 3 months and he needs to man up, shut up, and do what needs to be done to be successful, or go flip hamburgers.
