Hopper, Dump O/O's & Drivers

I should be back on the road monday after an inframe OH over the past week. we put plenty of higher hp parts in it and re did the ECM so I really cant wait to get it out and run it ought to be a pretty hot C12

Ok, thanks. We ordered a new hopper for my uncle to pull. I wanted to add an electric tarp but he didn't want one. I kind of thought it was stupid to put air cylinders on the doors, video cameras to load from inside the truck but then get out of the truck to roll the tarp. He talked to a guy here with one but he had an off brand and said it's junk. But he's pulling it so if he wants to crank it more power to him I guess.

 

I did it about 6 yrs ago since I already had a radio/TV in the dash. I always loaded at an elevator by myself and HATED getting dirt/dust in the cab (new truck) So I mounted one on the front end cap looking backwards. Since then I've put 2 on the cornhusker my dad pulls. One on top to load and one looking down between the hoppers underneath. Since his doors are air and open via in cab switch he dumps without getting out and wanted to see the pit(s). Now he's getting very lazy.

 

i have a manual tarp and the wind got it almost ripped my arm off

 

My first hopper gig didn't even have a roll tarp what a pain in the butt in the Oklahoma wind. And now they have cameras on the trailers.

Jfaulk99 how do you have them wired up to the truck or they wireless and what brand? It is a good idea.

 

No ropes over it?

 

I love roll tarps. I never forget the 70's. Floor trailers and old tarps we had to hang in the wind trying to get straight and tie off. Back then I said if I ever had roll tarps, power steering, AC and hoppers I'd be happy so I guess I'm happy.
