Oh boy..........You're going to make a stink over having to cover an hours worth of time in the day? Good for you, but I for one don't know if that was really necessary. So with that said, I'll just sit back and let all the newbs tell me how unprofessional I must be, but in all reality all he asked you to do was to "try and get it loaded", doesn't seem to be asking for a whole lot.

 

It will be interesting to hear what your DM has to say or what actions he'll take against you if any.

As for 'playing with your logs', yes you'll do it again. We all do to favor our pocketbooks. Maybe not daily, weekly, but you will. That's why there paper....'cause they're not written in stone.

The Eloggers are pioneering ways now that favor our pocketbooks as well so when it finally comes to that point for all in the industry.

 

So what's with the sarcasm?? At least he's thinking about running legal. If it's a reputable company they shouldn't bother him about it.

 

Sorry, but I would have gone on to the shipper, then worked out a solution.

 

Yeah I would to if it's only an hour away.

 

The shipper should let you stay on his property if you're out of hours.

 

Something like that you had plenty of time to make the shipper and check in and back to the dock. You can sleep getting loaded and either finish your 10 on the property or outside the gate closeby. Even places that don't let you stay on the property will let some park there when you tell them you are out of hours. Drivers do it everyday. Stuff like that it's best to call the shipper yourself and see if you can't prearrange camping out there. Then make a decision with your DM.

But it is your call. Now you'll get a break and then some waiting for another load. You have to learn to maximize your time or them paychecks will be small.

 

There will be a time where you'll end up having to run illegal....and it has nothing to do with making as much money as you can, its just a fact of life.

I took off from north central missouri at 7a this morning, right after i was told to bobtail to the shipper 170 mi away. En Route, i get the load assignment...by the time i get to the shipper, i find that the load was scheduled for delivery at 10:30p in Oklahoma City. I get to the final, with a load that was actually suposed to be there yesterday, and they tell me they wont let me check in till 930p. Anyone see a problem?? And i already know that if i ask to T-Call the load at the Oklahoma City terminal, they'll just tell me 'no'. And i wouldn't dare ask simply because i wouldn't want to be the driver to had to take the load on, and only get paid a mile.

The final is only 3 miles away....it wont take me but 5 min to drive it. then head back to the T/A here and hope there is still a spot....if not, i'll head to the terminal.
