This is very true.. but what big is not looking at is the first 2 months at any company you are going to have huge amounts of deductions for tags and escrows until they are paid for it doesn't matter to them if you get a check or not. And yes they are very bottom feeder when it comes to helping a driver out.. If you have your rear ends go out and need to borrow say 1500 from them they will get that off the next pay period...
Also they do treat the Dallas Mavis and Tyson drivers better... atleast they are treated like a partner and not a #####.
greatwide ripoff!

it was a terrible thing when they bought dallas mavis

Yep... It was a terrible thing when they bought CRL as well. Been holding on for along time.. the rope is about to break.. When you either have to put 15grand in a truck worth 10 grand or upgrade and move on.. Choice 2 doesn't seem to bad.

i agree ive got a buddy or two still hangin on there

I have a friend thinking about
Great wide out of olive branch , MS I would assume a reefer
Anyone got any info on that location ? -
Any greatwide is tough right now... They have a centralized dispatch system that is flawed.. You may work everyday this week and not get out but every other or every third day the next week.. Tell him to be very wary.. The deductions will eat him alive for the first e months... Other than that it is great.. oh and the going broke part but other than that he should jump in.

So I guess it would be better going into one of these company lease deals with a extra $10,000 cash in your bank acount.
-
And what will one do once the $10k is depleted due to a lack of revenue? Better to find a company that will help you generate enough $$$ so you can keep your $10k.
-
It was also a very SAD day when they bought Cheetah.Greatwide thinks the brokers (aka)dispatchers are great and the Trucker is garbage. These brokers are allowed to put freight on the loadboard that they don't really have because its on some other board and it depends which company finds a truck to haul it first, yet they claim its not brokered freight.A lot of the freight is Landstar freight, who by the way takes 17% off the topThe brokers are stealing off the top too.Greatwide allows the brokers to lie and cheat the O/O.

Its funny you mention brokers.. they also own cargomasters... which means they get to screw everyone... I would take landstars 17% over greatwides huge issues.
