How many truck stops can you still smoke in ??

I 100% agree. I hate going into resturants or truck stops where they allow smoking. And for some odd reason it bothers my eyes too.

I am not a smoker, but I enjoy the smoke free atmosphere. I try and avoid places that allow smoking. I think the market should dictate the conditions. Tho.
As for second hand smoke and it's 'health' effects?

there is not ONE definitive study using the same scientific criteria as was used for first hand smoke that shows diliterious health problems from second hand smoke.
If even HALF of this crap spewn about second half smoke was true, a third of the baby boomers wouldn't have made it past 25 years of age.
Most of us grew up with parents and relatives that smoked. In the car, in the house, in the grocery stores, in the elevators...everywhere. It was accepted and common.
If second hand smoke was so bad, why haven't we all died, have asthma or whatever?
The rate of resperatory problems for children of smokers of the 40's-60's is identical to the rate of children of non smokers of the 70's thru 2000.
But I do like the non smoking atmospheres!

Too bad the govt cant stay out of our lives anymore. They think they know best. Whats wrong with letting free market determine what places get smoked in, and those that don't. Business owners should be allowed to decide. If the business owner doesn't want a smokers business, so be it. I either go elsewhere, or deal with it, or vice versa. This big brother ##### gotta go...

I do have to wonder how many of you whining about smokers are 50lbs over weight or more? Have no fear your daddy obama will soon take you to task on that deal too...

 

Dont visit Ireland if your a Smoker,all Public Buildings, Hotels,Shops,Eateries,Truck Stops,Coaches and Taxi Cabs and any Public Vehicles are Non-Smoking areas and are liable to fines of up to $1,000 for offenders and Drivers.
I'm a Smoker but I agree with the Bans.

 

im a smoker and used to be respectful and stand away from the door as not to bother the folks coming in and out but now theyve got so whiny and beyatchy i stand there and giggle as they make sour faces and swat the smoke away

 

And the smokers wonder why people hate them so much, its total acts like this that make smoker the hated bunch that they are. I have no clue what it is that forces smokers to have to foul the breathing air up for the entire population in a truckstop. Its weak people who are so addicted to the nicotine that have to light up or else,.they just have to light up inside,..they just must.

I guarantee you this same nasty , putrid smelling bunch is responsible for the majority of the pee bottles and trash in the parking lots too,..anyone that nasty will throw the pee bombs.

It just stands to reason about human nature, any person who cares so little for themselves and is addicted that badly, will generally be filthy in other areas,..its just statistics.

 

Reap what I have sewn? How in the wide world of sports did you equate me being glad that nasty , filthy smokers cant foul up my breathing air in states that have passed smoking bans in public buildings to me being an Obama voter?

As a matter of fact R12 is both produced here and used here, it just must be reclaimed. I still have an old R12 system in my IH Scout and I can roll down to the local auto fix it shop and they will top me off no problem. I never said either R12 or DDT bans were a good idea or even if I supported the bans,..merely that they are bans and the government banned them. Just making my point that the government mandates lots of things that cannot be done on private property. The truckstop cannot operate a truckwash without proper water runoff treatment and containment,..this is a federally mandated regulation to preserve the groundwater,..this is where your drinking water comes from,..this is there for a reason.

Do I think the government is too far in our lives,..sure do,..but stopping smokers from fouling my breathing air and unscrupulous people from fouling my drinking water are two really good ideas.

I have a right to breathe clean air inside a truckstop, I will not eat in a truckstop that stinks or smells of cigarette smoke. I will be glad when its illegal to do so in all of the lower 48. You can choke and hack and cough and suck in the cancer clouds all you want 100 ft away from any public entrance and in your cab all you like,..but leave me and my air out of your filthy habit.

I am no green nazi,..you seem to have jumped on that pretty quick by the idea I hate cigarette smoke? I have no idea how you were so able to conclude this. Sally Struthers?,..loved her as Gloria in All in the Family, thats about the only opinion I have of her,..that and she got really fat, which is bad for the health. Didnt vote for Obama and am proud to say I have never voted for a liberal,..cant think of any way I could, but you sure got way out there over the smoking ban,..as for whats coming,..smoking bans are coming pretty fast.

I hope my family doesnt start dropping dead from Obamacare,..its not even implemented yet, and hopefully will never see the light of day. Addiction to a drug is very powerful and you are hooked on the religion of foul air and nicotine,..sad really,..hopefully you can make a new years resolution and kick the habit and you can add some days to your life and drop dead later rather than sooner.
