i think the one thing that everyone here can agree on is that the govt is way too involved in out lives.
Affirmative action, health care, smoking bans.

The one thing about smoking bans is that non smokers are not really going to voice their opinion about not liking smokers, in the free market. Sure we hate going into a smoke infested bar, but it will not stop us from going there.

But affirmative action is something that really gets me. I thought we were supposed to be color blind, and just hire who is ever the best fit for the job? not go from being racist against blacks to being racist against whites.
A business owner can't afford to be racist, the only color he cares about is green.
So why do we need govt in there with affirmative action?

It depends on the state and in some cases what part of the state. I was thrilled to find smoking sections in KY and MO and if I could I would hold off on dinner or shutting down for the night if I could get to a T/S in one of these states.

I dunno, there's just something nice and camaraderie-like about having a nice chat with a few fellow truckers with a post-meal cigarette and coffee. Too many drivers nowadays, it seems, are anti-social in the restaurants and just want to go in, eat, and go back to their truck. The loud or weird ones are always the most entertaining to listen to!

It's weird though, some parts of Indiana there were smoking sections, and then in other parts there weren't. Same with Alabama. Right now I just assume it's a non-smoking establishment until I walk in and see they having a smoking section.

I take exception to your last remark,a lot of that carry-on is done by Drunken Louts who are so Pissed out of their Heads they dont care what they do,I Smoke but like a lot of other Smokers I respect the Non Smoker and avoid Smoking in their Company and accusations like that does not do your cause any Favours.
Like Alcohol, Smoking is an Addiction,I dont Drink but I dont go around insulting the Drunk who slobbers all over me and Breathes into my Face when talking to me I just walk away, you should try doing the same.

I wonder how many smokers would be sick to their stomach if the person at the table next to them reeked of skunk or urine or fecal smells.

After all, they have the right to the same air as the smoker and we all know that the air flow in buildings will prevent the nasty smell to enter their table space.:biggrin_25526:

I believe that a smoker has as much right to smoke in the air as the person next to them has to clean air.

    Cannot please everyone.

Smoke filled bars are the reason I did not go in them for years. Finally quit drinking and rarely go in them. Except for fire and medical calls.

Our state is NON SMOKING. Medical calls at the local bars still amaze me as to the amount of smoke in the air.

The guy I trained with had a 4 pack a day habit. Every time we would go into a restaurant he would make a big deal about not being able to smoke in the place.

At that time I smoked...but never in an enclosed area, not in the truck without the windows being open and never in a restaurant. Since then Ive quit smoking and havent looked back.

How are smokers 100% of the ones throwing out all the pee bombs ????? Can you please post copies of your research here so we can review it.... Oh whats this...no research.... Thats what I thought...Yep your an idiot.

Very good point on 2nd hand smoke and the research in it, but all the BS gripe on 2nd hand smoke sure makes it easy for state and local goverments to use it so they can file law suites and tax the hell out of it to fill there pocket books.

Again can you please post your research on smokers and pee bombs.... We would all love to see it.

The states have no right to force these bans on property owners who pay taxes. It should all be up to the owners.... And I want to know where you were able to own all the breathing air.

You are correct. The government is too far in our lives. What does drinking water have to do with this subject and smoking bans ?????

Thats good that you will not eat there. Again who is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to walk in any building that people are smoking inside ???? Oh wait you walked in on your own free will so you have no right to ##### about it. Please feel free to go to a smoke free truck stop. As far as cancer clouds go I am sure there are many other things in the air that are worse then cig smoke.

I can see where you are going with some of your posts, however more then once you have been way out of line and you just sound stupid. You dont like smokers......Thats fine, but to sit here and insult everyone that smokes and say that smokers are the only ones trashing lots with pee bombs, etc is pure BS!!! You have no clue what your talking about.

If smoking bugs the hell out of you so much then keep your little list of all the smoke free places and please go there and do what you have to do. If you happen to stop at a non smoke free place feel free not to come in the building and go to another location.... You see there...problem solved.
