If you apply at KB Transportation, there are a few things you need to know. They LIE really bad. Run the other way!! They promise you the moon and stars and can't deliver a #### thing. My husband worked for them for 4 months, went thru 2 trucks. The first one blew a head gasket within the first month. That tells you how "Well Maintained" they keep their equipment. Nothing is newer than 2005. His APU went out and they told him to drive around so it can charge. He had to have tired replaced on a trailer he had, they told him to drive it anyway. The steal was coming thru the tires.

And they want you to run illegal or you don't make money. A State trooper asked him at the weight station about how they run, he told my husband that some drivers told him they make the drivers run illegally. My husband confirmed it. They say they will pay you 850 a week, but don't tell you that you can't take any down time for 34 or the 70 hour resets, that will make you ineligable for it. They tell you that you will be paid .34 to start plus per diem, but it is really .30 plus per diem.

He put in his 2 week notice, they begged him and asked what it would take to keep him, he told them he wanted to be home on weekends, I have health issues and am dying. They told him tough. They can't do that. When he got there to turn in his truck, they kicked him off the property. We live 9 hours away, my father-in-law drove up to get him. Then they deposited his check on Saturday, and withdrew it on Monday. He called to see what was going on, they kept telling him different stories. Friday he called and Pam told him he dented the gas tank, he was not going to be paid. What kind of crap is that? The trucks are pieces of #### that are not maintained, drove hard and no one there cares.

The truck blowing a head gasket has nothing to do with how it was maintained. They told him to drive the truck around so the APU could charge? A trooper asked your husband "Does your company make you run illegally to make any money?" and your husband actually said "Yes, they do". WOW!!

It just makes me sad.......We cannot allow this to be the face of the trucking industry. We simply have to represent ourselves better.

I'm sorry, did they really say 'tough', or is that your interpretation of what happened.
Telling the troopers and DOT that you run outside the law! Your husband wasn't at the front of the line when common sense was handed out was he.

Sorry to hear about your situation MW72, thoughts and prayers.

Another company willing to kiss Tyson's ### for $3.30/ mile and the heck with DOT! Any company like that is willing to go through drivers and give you one more big kiss as you quit.
They run the same lanes and same customers as us. At least I have a new truck, lol.
I have a buddy that left us and went to them last week. I told him all he did was change names on the side of the truck. With the 2005 fleet, you might get a new Cascadia soon. I'll see ya at one of the customers.
I maintained a spotless record for 12 years. You contract haul for Tyson, your record is going to get scarred. They promise you average length of haul 1200 miles. They don't mention you have 30 hours to do it. You need rest? Get them five drops off first. :)

Words of wisdom, stay away from any company that hauls Tyson. And especially one that promises you the moon. I honestly believe Tyson is so big, they have everyone bought off. You can audit their computers and see the scheduling is in violation. How do they keep getting away with it? The drivers always take the rap.

You report a problem like that tire and they don't fix it. You make sure you fill out an inspection report, sign it and keep a copy. I don't care what company it is, you have the final say on shutting an unsafe truck down.

K&B had a driver kill a few people last year. You'd think they clean up their act.

:biggrin_25512:I worked for this company from Oct. 2009 to Aug. 2010. After moving from Columbus to the Cleveland ohio area, I was brought into the office on a pretense, forced to sign a prepared statement saying that I quit or have a termination put on my DAC.
After moving, they could not find enough freight to get me home. They had to dead head me 130 miles. I had asked permission to move and got the OK.
They want to use drivers up and then get rid of them without having to pay higher unemployment taxes. Because I filed for unemployment benefits, I am now having a difficult time finding work. this is going to be the norm now with the new CSA rules. The trucking industry is going to go through drivers like '#### through a pig'.

They kept sending me emails wanting to come work for them, but when I responded by telling them I didn't want to work for a bunch of convicts! That stopped the repetitive emails from them!

K&B gave me the boot after 10 months of service. After moving to cleveland area from columbus, ohio, with their permission, they could not find freight to get me home.
After being brought back to the terminal on a pretense, I was called into the office and forced to sign a prepared and typed statement saying that I quit my job or be fired. This is illegal. I have never been fired from a job, so I signed it under extreme duress. I filed for unemployment and I have been having trouble finding work since then. Get used to this proceedure drivers, with the new CSA rules,:biggrin_25512: trucking companies are going to go through drivers like #### on a hot summer day.
