Then there's the guy in Cincinnati who will tell anyone who will listen that he is the King of Bah-Booie...Bah-bah-booie, Bah-bah-booie....He's the King of Bah-bah-booie.....

So what if my title is a wanna be trucker? They didn't put an option in for "radio hobbyist". :biggrin_2559: Then again I come here to help truckers that otherwise have to ask questions about their radios because they bought some bull that another trucker that thought he knew it all, tried to tell them.

So you ASSume that everyone that's not a truck driver that has a CB set up, has it just has it to annoy truckers? :biggrin_2559: Maybe a small few, but certainly not the 99.99999% of us 4 wheelers/base stations.

In fact if you want to get right down to it, who uses the CB more than anyone? It's certainly not the non truck drivers. :biggrin_25525: This isn't 1978 anymore. Not many people other than truckers even get on the radio anymore. Chances are some of those people you mention are more than likely truck drivers themselves, but you can sit and ASSume it's some guy on his base station or someone with a mobile in their car just because they're causing a ruckus on the air. Then again I don't know how many times I've been on an open stretch of interstate, with nothing but trucks around with my radio squelched up and heard chatter clear as day pegging out my meter, that couldn't make it past 4 words without dropping the f bomb or the n word or some cb rambo getting rowdy.

The "aaauuudddiiiooo" is the guy that is testing his set up w/o a dummy load. Same goes for the whistles and such. Heck CB techs sometimes do this. I don't know why....you'd think they'd have a dummy load to work with.

And here's one for you....do you know what "skip" is? Sometimes the guy you hear on the other end isn't 2 miles from you, but rather several hundred miles away. If you have a good ear and know what to listen for, you can usually tell the difference. So that guy yelling "aaauudddiiioo" might not even be near a trucker. Yeah I concur he'd be better off getting a dummy load to test with, but just sayin'.

Furthermore not very many people have the massive 20k watt base station or 10k watt mobiles that you speak of. There are a few exceptions but most of them are usually the true hardcore CBer's that participate in keydown contests and such.

Also the reason CB phased out was based more on the cell phone and internet more than it was the foul language, though the foul language did play a role, but not as big as the other two. Another reason is the coming of age of roger beeps and echo boards.

I don't see where you corrected anyone here bud...

I feel obligated to say something here, since I made such a big stink about making wild generalizations earlier in this thread. First off, there are very few things that can be measured to five decimal points accurately. I realize you're using exaggeration to make your point, but I'm a little OCD about folks throwing around wild numbers like 99.99999%. I'd say the real percentage of the 4-wheeler and base station crowd that engage in that type of activity is far lower, like 15% or lower. If it's not obvious from my earlier posts in this thread, I am also of the opinion that the hobby cb crowd has a higher ratio of troublemakers than the truckers, but I think the troublemakers are in a small minority of both groups. Turbo-T and I may not agree on everything, but having recently read back over some of his older posts and consequently having to eat some crow, he does spend, oh, 95% ;) of his time here helping folks out with their radio setups, and I think he's a responsible user of the airwaves.

The guy that in Cincinnati that irritates me the most is the one with the awful sounding radio that keeps saying "..sharp curve exiting the tunnel in the vicinity of the one mile marker. Reduce your speed to forty miles per hour NOW."

First off the idiot with the relentless Auuuuuddddddiiiiiooooo ALL DAY LONG, is NOT a tech, when he actually talks, he will tell you exactly who he is, what he has, and what he does for a living. As of very recently he was unemployed. He is VERY proud of what he has in his tan colored SUV (I know the color because, and just being honest here, I tried to pull is ######### out of it!) Not to mention that he will go on and on about what is in his home and he will only "allow" truckers to talk when HE wants!

And yes, I know exactly what "skip" is... When the skip is rolling, I'll occassionaly let my voice be heard as well.

Bolt cutters work very nice. Clip his antenna right at the base. If he is not around and the vehicle is in your sights then a simple stick pin through the coax and a side cutter to clip the pin flush with the coax.

And you've only got a year on you there, not all non trucking CB operators are like this. Apparently this one individual is doing it to get attention probably due to boredom. So there goes the "99.99999999% of non truck drivers with CB radios are only on to cause problems" out the window.

Your defence of these idiots on base stations is kind'a weak!

There is at LEAST one or two of these clowns in every city in the country. You hear the same guy in the same places every time you pass through the area so don't even start with the tired old "The skip is rollin" nonsense!

I haven't heard anyone on a base station in many years that was having a normal conversation!
Every single base station I hear is some dunce sitting there for hours a day babbling like an idiot about nothing.
The morons that sit all day sayin "audio" over and over are rarely if ever radio techs.
They're just morons with a base and a low IQ and nothing better to do.

When I enter an area with one of these dunces running his mouth all day I just turn the volume way down and when I'm out of range of his radio I turn it back up....It usually only takes a few minutes.

I NEVER engage them in conversation or try to tell them that they're irritating and all of the other stuff that hear drivers telling them.

That's what these idiots live for is to argue with truckers and they usually get their moneys worth because you hear drivers yelling at them all the time and it's hard to determine who's dumber....The duce on the base or the driver that's too stupid to understand that if we never talked back to these guys...They would eventually go away.

You have been drving for a year and your calling someone else a wanna be?
Once more your showing what you know and that is very little. 95% of ALL of the BS you hear on the radio is ether current truck drivers or people that used to be drivers...The other 5% are guys with really small powered base setups that dont have enough power to talk to the locals with out getting walked on,so they get on Ch 19 and try to walk on a bunch a barefoot truckers, just so they can feel better about being such losers.
20K base and 10K mobile is like me saying im running 250K out of my barefoot cobra 19! You think it takes that much to smash a barefoot trucker? With an Imax 2000,about 50 feet in the air and 250 watts you could stomp on barefoot radios ( have done it myself with guys who come to our channel and tried to talk crap) all day long as long as those barefoot radios were within a few miles of each other, that means nothing. It takes a boat load of cash to have an amp built to do that kinda power, hell your looking at $2500.00+ for a high quality tube base amp and it a only does 2 grand, how much you think it would cost for one that does 20 thousand watts? The tube along for a 20KW base amp is over $3500 ( 3CX10000A7 and it would take 2 of em ) Not to mention the cost of the amps, alternators, batteries, wiring, coax and antenna you would need to have a 10K mobile, its not just a plug and play! Those guys are full of BS and your buying into it!

You think a jobless fool that does nothing but piss people off on the radio has that much laying around to spend?
I have never heard Chuck or Coolbreze on CH19 even when the DX was rolling in NC and we pointed the beams up north to talk skip. We all talked the those boys...well walked on is more like it....in NY and NYC and never heard these VA fools, With that much power and strong DX they would lock down ch 19 on the east cost!

Truckers dont talk on radios anymore because they are tired of all the stupid comments they hear on ch 19 from.....you ready for this...other truckers!. Not because some Ahole on a small base or mobile is trying to be a wanna be super trucker.Any of you that have been on the road for a few years knows this to be true.

So,how many forums have you been kicked off of so far longshot?

So what are you trying to say? That everytime you pass thru town XXX you hear this guy? Or are you saying you pass thru town XXX and 900 miles away you hear the same guy again but in a different town?

Well I suppose if all you ever do is stay tuned to 19 I could understand...I myself hop on 38LSB and work DX if not chat locally with another sidebander near by. I use 19 for interstate traveling. Heck do you even know what 38LSB is?

I do recall once while traveling thru Kansas City I encountered a couple of base stations that were all for a good chat. I actually enjoyed it. But we weren't on 19 either.

Now you want to talk about babbling about nothing....I can't recall how many times I've heard truckers on 19 doing just that. I know not all truckers do it....some actually take their convo to a different channel, and some tie up 19 like they own the frequency.

And again...never did I say there weren't base station operators that didn't sit and piss off truckers....but then again you can't say it's all base station operators or all people not in the trucking industry. Otherwise who's doing all the CB rambo bullying at the truck stops? :biggrin_25523:
