Truckers can strike any day, any way, you're listening to your child's band again aren't you?

 

Because HE and anly HE will have to adapt and overcome this specific predicament.

 

I've thought about quite a bit. Even dedicated relays, and there are a lot of them, that are set up based on five and a half hour driving time meets are going to be in trouble..let alone single driver 11 hour based runs. Companies are going to have added expense and the consumer will be the recipient of higher prices in the end. Its a domino effect that government bureacrats either don't want to talk about or havent figured out will happen if ten hours replace the current eleven hour rule. Teams will be a must in a lot of runs that are currently done with a single driver and single one driver runs will have to be converted into two driver relays. For every action made...there will be a re-action and lawmakers most time could care less about the re-actions as long as it doesn't affect them directly.

 

Ok I have had this conversation before going down the road. It is actually illegal for truckers to strike. We can convoy all we want, but to disrupt the actual flow of goods throughout the U.S. was outlawed after the first and last strike we did. I will get the specific HS from the 70's. I used to know it off the top of my head, but deregulation is what caused it and it took years to get those guys together. Then it took guns to get 90% of the trucks stopped. So you do the math we can't have guns, we can't disrupt the flow of goods, we can't do anything unless we have 100% cooperation from all companies and drivers as well as local municipalities so they won't start locking guys up for blockading fuel depots and things like that. It can be done like anything else, but it would take numbers we just will never get...

And remember the 10 hour rule was the rule since the beginning then they went to the 11 us old timers knew they would go back to the 10 it was just a matter of time. Too many newbies don't know how to fly under the radar, and too many companies putting them out on the road getting trained by a guy that has been driving for 6 months. I saw it with my own eyes so I know it is true. Werner, JB Hunt, Swift just to name a few I know I asked the recruiters and I also worked for Werner for a while I talked to a few of them. So yeah it is guys that don't treat it like a business people treat what we do like a 9 to 5 job so I guess it will get treated as such...

Yeah I feel bad for you driver you need to take your trucks and do something else with em or get rid of a couple trucks while the government is still payn unemployment...
